This 125V GFCI receptacle is different from conventional receptacles. In the event of a ground fault, a GFCI will trip and quickly stop the flow of electricity to prevent serious injury. When mis-wired, this weather resistant GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets have no power, so it is more safe than conventional receptacle. Safe lock function, the reset button will not engage if protection has been compromised. Tamper Resistant meaning that there are shutters that prevent an electrical shock when someone is inserting an object inside. Best used with 14 gauge wire. If using 12 gauge wire: Pigtail the screw above the ground hole.
