Uplifting
Bog myrtle is a plant which is often found in the wetter ground at the foot of Scottish mountains. After a day's hillwalking, picking a few leaves as you go by and rubbing them between fingers and thumb produces a scent which is energising and uplifting. It briefly makes you feel less tired. The scent isn't long lasting, however. This product captures the scent pretty well (although being an oil it has a slightly more pine-resinous quality than my memory of the freshly squashed leaf) and offers that inspiriting moment, but it isn't particularly lingering either. That's just the volatile nature of bog myrtle rather than any defect with the product. It's great that it's available at all.

Bog in a bottle
What can I say, it's bog myrtle, and it's an oil. We used it in Scotland to keep the midges away, but I couldn't tell if it was this or the 'so soft' that we used that worked. But, it was exactly as it said, bog myrtle oil in a bottle. Lovely.
