Great Value for the Money
This is my third purchase of this knife. My first two went to friends deploying to the giant sandbox. To sum up this knife's attributes, I can state without reservation that it is a great value for the money. For someone who needs a high quality knife that is strong, well made, durable, and won't break the bank, this is it. The handle material is superb. It's highly gripable under all conditions: cold, wet, you name it. It feels good in the hand. The quality is very nice. The lines and angles are very nice, with little deviation. I always laugh when I read reviews where people say that this angle or that is off by a fraction of a millimeter or some other nonsensical excuse to nitpick. This is not a $1000 knife. This is a solid well-made working tool that is ideal for campers, backpackers, hunters, and. of course, military applications. This knife will do anything one reasonable needs a knife to do. The San Mai steel construction is quite nice, the lines and bevels are just fine, and it is frighteningly sharp, so sharp that it can cut you just by looking at it! Well, almost. The tip is also very strong and pointed. It will pierce easily. I know that some have complained about the sheath - again it seems like some just like to complain for its own sake. The sheath itself is good and holds the knife with the utmost security. The nylon belt portion could be better, but it is definitely serviceable and just fine for civilian applications. For the military, I would obtain a Spec Ops brand sheath just because field gear for mil ops has to be strong above and beyond the norm. Again, this is a great working tool and one that I can certainly recommend without hesitation.

Really? Nice super strong. Well, made good metal, nice weight. Great luck good price
Really nice. Well, made super sharp and I like the fact that the the case is well made as well. It's got great balance as far as weight. It's not too heavy from one side or the other. And yes, it definitely is a nice size, and it's very comfortable meaning. It's not too heavy, but yeah, it's definitely a good way to it. The edge on, it seems to hold up very great. I've cut a lot of things with it sticks and picks branches as I do. A lot of camping very good works great. Super sharp well, made for sure, and it's a great price. And the edge, it is very good as well like I said, it's a good metal. It holds up

This Is An Amazing Knife
I'm not a "knife guy" So I was very weary of spending a lot of money on what would end up being cheap chinese steel. So with a lot of research into knife steel it came down to 3V, S35VN or, San Mai and I like the qualities and price. This feels like a real combat knife. Strong enough for field and bushcraft use, And a blade sized just right for defensive use. The blade keeps a very sharp edge. The secure-ex sheath is very nice too. I know its status quo talk badly about the secure-ex but I covered my blade in petroleum jelly to see where the sheath was "grabbing" the blade and to see if the edge had any worn off and it did not. The blade is not touching anything in the sheath when the handle is locked in. They are far better than the nylon and plastic still pettled by other manufacturers. Edit: I tested this knife very thouroughly, sharpening it as much as I could and taking it into the dence pines of the PNW and abused it as hard as I could and at the vary end the knife was as sharp as your average kitchen knife. This knife being lighter than the 3V is a though nugget, I immedately bought a second. With a spare in the safe I'm genuinely interested in how far this knife can go. I don't "batton" my knifes, Get a (Estwing) hatchet or ax, nor abuse them but as an avid long term camper I need a knife that stays strong and sharp. This really fits the bill.

A Well made tool.
If you are looking for a decently priced (get it around $90.00 on sale) well made (good edge out of the box and retention with a good balance) multi purpose Knife that will serve you with low maintenance and a design that has been proven with low maintenance to boot... then look no further and buy one while you can.

Near Perfection from Cold Steel
First impressions: This is a great knife made even more beautiful by the San Mai steel, love that line that runs along the bottom of the bevel. Blade came hair-popping sharp and made shreds of thin notepad paper right out of the box. I’ve known a lot of soldiers that carried this regularly back when it was offered in Carbon V and can see why. I’m hoping to implement this into my regular EDC. It’s got some heft to it, but it feels and handles much lighter and smaller than it really is. The handle is just like the Master Hunter I’ve had for 20+ years so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Didn’t see any concerns about uneven beveling or grinding that other reviewers mentioned. The sheath is good, but not great. It fits snug rubbing on the blade but not sure where. It doesn’t appear to affect the cutting edge, though, and I’m not afraid of it falling out from fitting loosely. I removed the nylon belt attachment and ran 550 cord through the holes. That allows it to ride higher, closer, and more discrete when wearing under an untucked shirt for daily EDC and still allows for easy draw and replacement from carrying on the weak side. Again, this is a big knife that carries like a small one, perfect for EDC. It’s sleek yet stout with just enough heft to take on big jobs yet still able to perform small jobs accurately. Cold Steel, please DO NOT DISCONTINUE THIS PRODUCT!
