Amazing induction hob
After renovating the kitchen, I needed a new hob to replace my freestanding oven. I wanted induction but some of the prices were eye-watering (especially for unknown named brands). I saw this, and the fact it connects via a 3 pin 13 amp plug (so no electrician needed), and the price was fantastic!I installed it, expecting for it to be decent, but not spectacular. I have been blown away by it since and I recommend it to everyone. It features rapid boil, the ability to lock the hob to prevent accidental changes, and pan detection so you don’t waste energy if the pan isn’t present or isn’t seated correctly. It’s been a learning curve (coming from a ceramic hob), but the results have been fantastic, the rapid boil still blows my mind, and the energy saving is excellent.Easy to install into a worktop recess, it does let out a slight high pitched whirring noise on higher settings (common with all induction hobs) but it is not an issue, you can’t even hear it most of the time - especially over simmering food or if you have an extractor hob on.It looks tidy, it’s a brand you can trust and a fantastic price. It’s made cooking on it an absolute joy, and definitely a recommended replacement (or upgrade) to your current hob.

AEG INDUCTION HOB
Bought this to replace an existing AEG induction hob. The old one excellent and lasted years but one side had stopped working. The old one was very powerful and was hard wired into the 16amp supply. I only gave the one 16 amp supply in my kitchen and needed this for the new oven I purchased with this hob. I was a little apprehensive as it was a plug in one and I figured it wouldn’t have the power to operate in power mode or power mode would not get good enough. I needn’t have worried it knocks the spots off the old one, boiling a saucepan of water in a little over 2-3 mins and allowing me to use other hobs on high at the same time. For the money. This is an excellent hob. Easy to install and looks great to. Performance is second to none. I paid £285 for this hob and some 10 years ago the old one cost almost £800. I know technology has moved on but I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised that this has met my needs and exceeded them. You can get cheaper inferior brands than this but I’d recommend shelling out the extra 80-90 and get this one. Worth the extra just for the extra years guarantee when you register online for peace of mind but not only that, the performance will blow the others out of the water.

A year on it looks brand new and works like a dream
Cannot recommend it enough. I have never been as pleased with a purchase. Bought and installed well over 1 year and there is not one mark on it, it works without fault, it’s pretty and most importantly, it was super easy to instal. It’s a plug in so didn’t need an electrician cutting a wire channel in the wall etc. I am still amazed it only costs under £300. Would be willing to pay double that easily for how good it is

Looks the business
The media could not be loaded. Really easy to install, unfortunately I had to chop of the plug to hardwire it under my counter top as I didn't want more wire showing. Really love the power button which boils items really quick, the only downsize is its noisier than my ceramic hob it replaced. Really easy to clean even overspilled potatoe water. Really easy to slip in the original hole of previous hob just clicked in place. I'm annoyed I didn't apply sealant under it before I installed it. Not the same shine as last hob, more a matt finish. Make sure your pans are good quality induction ready as it does make a difference to efficiency.

Poor performance
Uneven heating. Hotest part of each ring is not in the central and uneven heat across ring area. When you lower the temp it hunts up and down to maintain the temperature. So not very controlable. It was cheap but not sure it is worth the savingNow used this for a couple of weeks. Very hard to control temperature. Unlike my previous induction hob, this is either full on or nothing. Hard to set to simmer. Now used for 3 weeks and another failing is that it keeps switching the hob off for no reason. Luckily it beeps when it does so to warn you that it is doing something.

Excellent product
Excellent hob so much better than our previous halogen hob. We had an induction hob in the past so still had the right pans etc. Two great features are the slider controls and the instant heat feature. The sliders make it so much easier to control the heat (one of the issues that we had with our previous halogen hob where power would keep clicking on and off making it almost impossible to simmer). This one however works brilliantly and the speed of the instant heat is probably quicker than our kettle for bringing water to the boil. Thoroughly recommended at the price.

Nice induction hob.
This replaced our ceramic hob. Very pleased with this AEG, it's very responsive ( just like gas control ). You can link to areas together if you have a large pan.
