Nice tools to have around
Pex Crimping Tool with Cutter,Pex Ratchet Cinch Crimper for Stainless Steel Clamp Rings from 3/8"-1",Meet ASTM 2098The water supply in my house is all PEX. This is a nice tool to have around if you need to do any plumbing work. It crimps the clamps on tight. I like the ratcheting action. It’s also nice for getting in tighter spaces. I have a different style crimper, but it’s really large and it’s hard to work with in tight spaces. The cutter is sharp but seems a little small. For the most part, it will do the job, but don’t expect to be cutting anything too large. I have a different cutter that is a bit bigger and cuts larger pipe.

Heavy duty crimping tool. Cutter is lightweight and only good for 3/4" or smaller pipe.
The HeSun ratcheting PEX stainless steel clamp ring crimping tool that I ordered included a lightweight PEX pipe cutter. The crimping tool is very well made and easy to calibrate (when necessary). It will properly crimp stainless steel clamp rings for PEX pipes sizes from 3/8" - 1". A nice touch is having the blue indicator LED to visually show you when the clamping ring has been properly crimped. The included PEX cutter has a very lightweight build and will only work on 1" and smaller PEX pipe. This cutter should have been large enough to cut 1" PEX pipe.I prefer to install PEX-A piping, but I do have people that request PEX-B systems. My preferred choice for PEX-B clamps are the copper rings, but I do have people that specify the use of stainless steel crimp rings on their systems.Overall this was a good choice for crimping PEX-B stainless steel rings.

Nice PEX Crimping tool
This is a quality tool that is well made. I have only used the manual bolt cutter style that requires a good amount of force to complete the crimp. This ratcheting style is new to me but is MUCH easier to use. I haven't started my plumbing project yet but went ahead and tested this tool out on a piece of 1/2" crap PEX and it worked great. The blue light feature that lets you know you've reach optimal crimping pressure is a great feature and really makes it dummy proof. As long as it holds up the many many crimps I see this being a great tool for tool box.

Produces Precision Clamping
PROS: Good heavy duty crimper, fits common sized hex clamps, (great idea) blue light indicates crimping is completed to spec., includes a calibration gauge, Allen wrench, instruction manual, extra batteries, and a very sharp pipe cutter. CONS: Pipe cutter is light duty and probably won't last the life of the industrial grade crimper, and this large sized crimper may not fit easily into some tight spaces/holes, otherwise a great value and could make a nice gift for father's day.

Works just like the name brand from the local big box store
We flip houses and generally that means some light plumbing repairs. Since PEX has become the industry standard material, a good crimping tool is crucial. A good one at the local Home D store can run you $80 - $100.... even more if you buy the PEX "A" crimp ring tool... that one is north of $300 for basic tool.Since we don't do any in depth plumbing, a crimp tool like this one works great for us.The things that set this one apart from others is the ratcheting style and the light that comes on when you've reached the necessary torque needed to make a solid leak free crimp. The ratcheting mechanism gives you the most crimping power in a compact design. You can get into tighter spaces and still get a good solid crimp on the rings. Non ratcheting crimpers have long handles that requires 3 hands and lots of dexterity. This ratcheting crimper makes the process much easier. The light acts like a torque wrench... it lights up and gives you a great visual sign that you've properly applied the stainless steel crimp ring. Removes the guess work... The PEX pipe cutter is nothing special... it's a basic plastic pipe cutter that works well... but the real jewel in this kit is the ratcheting crimp tool. Highly recommended.

Just in time
I'm less than a third of the way through installing a sprinkler system in my yard. To ensure no underground leaks when sprinklers are on, I am using clamp rings. The clamp tool I use does a good job making a tight crimp but it's not the easiest to use. It's like a big pair of pliers with long handles that have to be fully opened using both hands and try to grab the moving clamp ring in the correct spot while at the same time closing the clamp tool enough to stay on the clamp ring without it falling off. The handles of the clamp tool have to open so wide that there is no way to use it with one hand like you would a set of pliers. Even using it takes a lot of force pushing with both hands to get a proper crimp. This product solves all of the problems. It can be held and used with one hand while you hold the clamp ring in place. And the ratcheting system makes it easy to get a proper crimp. There is also an LED that lights up when the correct crimp force is achieved. Well designed and made.
