Medical Terminology 350: Learning Guide

My sister took this course in Nursing school back in 1983 and gave it a "two thumbs up." I paged through the book upon receipt and began having second thoughts. I thought some of the word associations seemed a little kooky but decided to try it because of the high recommendation. I worked through the first chapter fairly quickly with not much belief in the process. I wasn't counting on any retention of what I had initially read. Surprisingly, I was able to draw upon a couple of terms in clinical this week. I'm looking forward to reviewing this chapter, to really lock it in. I'm looking forward to continuing with the remainder of the book, in this most curious approach.

Being used I was expecting highlighting and notes or messed up spines. But this book had very minimum damage with no writing and exceeded my expectations. Minimum damage is Very worth it for such a better price.

This book makes studying my independent study online Medical Terminology class simpler. The only complaint is that this book is supposed to have an audio/video disc that was made specifically for this book, it did not come with this book but the description does not specify whether it does or not. I have searched high and low in every bookstore I can find and also online for the cd and I still haven't been able to find it anywhere. I am for certain that this book would be so much more help if it had the disc or if I could find it at all elsewhere. But it still is overall a good study aid. I enrolled in a surgical technology program in Tulsa,Ok, and they used this. I still use Dean Vaughn today to refreshen and brush up on my terminology. I think Dean vaughn is the best out there. This avenue for learning medical terminology is fun, and entertaining. I would recommend Dean Vaughn to anyone wanting to learn medical terminology. This is a great way to learn.
