I record audio in a room that is untreated and has a fair amount of echo, so I'm always looking for ways to improve my audio quality. This isolation shield from Aokeo is a very effective way to improve audio. I tested it with several different microphones, while using the Aokeo isolation shield, and then without. There's is a notable improvement when it's being used. The construction of this isolation shield is good, and it looks professional. I've been enjoying using it. I appreciate that it includes a stand. I also like that it folds up for storage to save space, and even comes with a storage bag. The microphone height was mostly spot on, but with one particular microphone, I would have liked to have positioned it slightly lower. If you want to attach it to a light stand, you'll need a 3/8 male thread, or adapted to that.

I happen to have extra padding so I created a makeshift top & bottom. It definitely helps w/ muting the road noise.

This is great for deadening some of that unwanted reverb. When I was young I always wanted something similar to this, but I also luckily had the ability to record in some very nice well treated studios. This is great to be on the road with, but its not a end all or every session thing. As with all sound... it depends. so use this as a plug-in when needed.

If you need a mic sound deadner the. Yes. The base is heavy and it feels very nice. Make sure this is something you need. If you just have a mic and think you need this to look cool for streaming, no. Stop it

The shield is too small to capture all voice output, but you can really hear the difference when you work within the shielded area. It's a good and sturdy stand, but I wish it had the ability to increase the height more. The "internal" mic mount is basic and straightforward, but it gets the job done - and it all folds up and covered so that I can store it out of the way. Overall, it's a simple device and it helps focus the sound in my recordings.
