Works Great with the Apple Health App
I really like this scale. The Renpho app actually works good despite my initial doubts before having used it. Now that I've had it for several weeks I can say that it has become a part of my weekly routine. I just open the app before stepping on the scale and then it automatically syncs after weight and body measurement are made. The app is not bad at all. It is useful in and of itself. It also syncs the data with the Apple Health app which then combines all your input devices and their data. I periodically look at both apps. If I'm in need of daily weight measurements I will look at it daily. I am about to go on a 10 day Master Cleanse and will be monitoring my weight carefully. I am glad that I have an accurate scale that makes tracking the data so easy. My wife also uses the scale and it syncs to her iPhone as well. If you use the scale without your smartphone it will sync to it the next time you have it and tap on the scale to power it up. Better than expected and not that expensive for what you get. 5 stars. Update ** July 7th, 2019 - I have an iPhone X and will be basing my review off my experience using it and the iOS app. The app is fantastic, FREE and fun to use. I find it easy to learn to use and navigate. To pair your new scale just open up the app and select "Device" then the "+" to add a new device. Step on your new scale after you have installed the included 3 AAA batteries and it should show up on your app screen. Click it to add it. Now to use the scale you can do it one of two ways. The method I prefer it to have the app open and then step on the scale. It will then take your weight and begin the other measurements. After it is finished it will transfer the info to the app and you will hear an audible confirmation that it is complete via your app. The second method involves you stepping on the scale and letting it take all measurements. Then later you open your app and step on then off the scale just to wake it up and will will transfer the last measurements taken to the app while you have it open. You will want to make sure that you were the last person that it took measurements for. The app gives you so much information. Weight, BMI, Body Fat %, Fat Free Body Weight, Subcutaneous Fat, Visceral Fat, Body Water, Skeletal Muscle, Muscle Mass, Bone Mass, Protein, BMR, Metabolic Age. I am not sure exactly how accurate these readings are but a highly useful tool is the "TRENDS" tab which show the historic data for each of these measurements. You can see the data over time. I just used the scale to track a 10 day Master Cleanse I did. It gives me so much to information to analyze. I can clearly see that as I dropped 14 lbs in weight my BMI and Body Fat also dropped. It showed my Body Water climbing which makes sense as I was drinking so much water during this time. As I look at all the measurements they seem to coincide with the cleansing program and what I was expecting and hoping to occur. You can set Weight and Body Fat goals in the app and track your progress towards them. I haven't used this feature but it is there to help coach you. The scale is simple and easy to use. If you don't have the app or a smartphone it will function as any other scale by stepping on it and looking at the weight reading. If you step on then off it, it will enter a "calibration cycle" which takes a few seconds as it calibrates itself to "0". I have had several digital scales over the years and this is by far the easiest and most comprehensive one that I have used. I would highly recommend it as it is full featured, has a polished app interface, seems well made, is simple to use, is very reliable, accurate and economical. I consider it to be a very good value. 5 stars easy.

The Scale That Weighs You and Cheers You On
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 Stars – The Scale That Weighs You and Cheers You On Let me just say: the RENPHO Smart Scale has been holding me accountable since before sourdough starter became a personality trait. And yes, we are still using it today, which is a miracle in a house where remotes disappear faster than socks. This thing doesn’t just tell you your weight—it gives you your entire life story. BMI, body fat, water weight, muscle mass, emotional stability (okay, maybe not that one, but close). It’s like stepping on a brutally honest but strangely supportive life coach. Battery life? Impressive. Though yes, eventually, like all things in life—your motivation, your houseplants, your patience—it will need a little battery swap. But it gives you plenty of notice before it goes dark. And the fact that we’re still on maybe our second or third set since 2020-ish? Not bad at all. The RENPHO app? Oh, she’s the overachiever friend who graphs your progress, syncs with Apple Health, and says things like “You’ve gained 2 pounds of muscle!” instead of “You’ve gained 2 pounds!” which is a gift. Truly. What I love: ✅ Still working today like a champ (and doesn’t scream when I step on it—bonus!) ✅ Great for multiple users—yes, the whole family uses it, even the dog got weighed once (don’t ask) ✅ Surprisingly motivating. Watching your stats shift, even slightly, feels like winning the adult version of a gold star. ✅ The Bluetooth sync makes me feel like I’m part of a futuristic gym cult, in the best way. Pro Tip: Put it on a hard surface, not the bath mat. Unless you enjoy being lied to by a floor. So if you’re on a health journey, a “maybe-I-should-track-things” journey, or just love data with your daily dose of truth—this is the scale for you. Remember, the number on the scale is just data—not your worth. Unless it says your muscle mass is up. Then yes, go ahead and strut. 💪✨

*** UPDATED ** Excellent in design. (Scratch this >>Lousy in real world use.)
*** Updated 8/2019 I purchased another of these scales shortly after leaving a poor review. The price point was good and I really wanted one that sync'd up to my Fit Bit. It came two days later (love me some Prime) and set up super easy. (mere seconds). I have been using it regularly for the past three months without any issues. I have four people using and syncing to various devices. It is working fantastic. Some days I personally think it should be showing a lower weight, but I think it is more user than equipment. In a surprising twist, I received another scale a few days after I bought this reviewed one. I was very confused about why I had another. It seems, the seller saw my comments and replaced the scale that was not working. They did not realize I purchased another. I have not opened the replacement, since the one I purchased is working fine. As a side note, the battery life seems to be good. I have not changed them out and will be curious if that effects the operation of the scale. My updated review - excellent price, great scale, fantastic customer service. Buy it, use it, love it, and if you are feeling generous - gift it. **Original Review** I bought the scale to use in tandem with my fitbit 3. It came in two days (love Prime) and set up very easily with my phone. I set up profiles for everyone in the house. We all weighed in and it worked great. Repeated the next week. The third week it stopped working. I swapped out the batteries. No luck. It was dead. I was 2 days outside of the date I could return to Amazon. I tried calling the 800 number for the company but sat on hold and finally hung up. At the $20 price point it was fun while it lasted. I have three recorded weigh ins. My son 2. So basically we paid $4 per weigh in. I won’t buy this again. But I am planning to replace with a more reliable option. It’s too bad. It is a nice scale. The interface is great. But the electronics leave me disappointed.

Great scale, does everything it advertises

The Scale is easy to set up and use. One can follow the instructions and then Install the app. It works best and accurately once you calibrate the scale before you begin to use it. Most of the issues of inaccuracy comes in only because of not calibrating the scale before you use for the first time. There will not be any variation in your weight if you are comparing it against some other scale other than a few 100 - 150 grams but your metrics like BMI / Body Fat / Protein percentage may differ. That is because no smart scale in the world, even the best ones can accurately measure that. What it rather gives is a an approximate indication of where you are when you first started using the scale and what have you progressed to over the course of time as you measure regularly to help you stay fit and healthy. its not that obesity runs in the family. it is because no one runs in the family. we dont have to blame the scale for that.

I have size 11 feet and my toes hang off the edge of this scale. It's very, very tiny and leads to wildly different readings: up to 2kg (~5lbs) difference in readings taken moments apart.
