Dries quick, looks nice, a little goopy
I’ve never tried kintsugi before. My mom was of Japanese descent and I broke a flower pot that had belonged to her and decided this was a great way to repair it. This kit is easy to use but the acrylic started leaking out of the back of the tube when I was using it. Definitely cover your whole work surface before you start and make sure you have somewhere that you can set the syringe-like tubes of the acrylic compound upright but also where it doesn’t matter if it leaks. Listen when it says to spread thinly. If it goops out of the cracks, it’s hard to clean. I’ve considered taking a nail file to a few spots on mine but I haven’t done it yet. I really love the outcome and the meaning behind this practice.

There's NO INSTRUCTIONS!!!
This kit comes with everything you need, EXCEPT step by step instructions for how to use it. The materials list does NOT define what each thing is or how to use it. I had hoped to use this as soon as I got it, but that didn't happen. Disappointing.

Add Some Flair To Pieces
I was familiar with kintsugi and how it can make broken objects look more beautiful with gold. I wasn't going to break anything, nor did I have anything broken to use this on. So I decided to use it and make fake cracks on existing jars and pots. The included instructions are clear: mix the glue epoxy with your preferred gold dust color (you are given two gold colors), and completely mix. Then, use the provided stir stick to apply to your cracks and put them back together. You should apply a minimal amount so it doesn't drip. However, I used a disposable small brush to paint on a cracked pattern on some glass jars and vases, trying to look broken yet artistic. Sure, you can use gold paint to do this, but this epoxy material is more durable than paint. In the end, this is epoxy and gold powder, but this kit comes with everything you need without having to buy anything else. The results for me look great. I highly recommend practicing on a throwaway piece before moving on to the real thing.

Nice set for a few continuous uses
This set comes with all I need to try kinitsugi. The kit comes with several applicators and instructions. I think the instructions are pretty clear and I like that they include visual aids. The only part that I'm unsure about is whether it can be stored after a single use and how long it may keep. I'm unsure if you need to use it all at once or not.

Cool craft for his passion
I have a son who loves Japanese anything. He has taken sushi making lessons. He is learning Japanese on his own. He likes Japanese anime, music, etc. This seemed like a great gift idea of something he might not be familiar with yet.I've heard about it and thought it was such a neat lesson in wisdom. A way to teach someone who feels broken that they can come back even more wonderful when they are put back together again with added gold. All that in a piece of art.I think he's really going to like this kit because it has almost everything you need to do it. Now bring on the broken stuff.

Worked Beautifully on a Broken Teapot Lid
I used this to repair a teapot lid I dropped and it not only looks great and works, it adds to the Japaneseness of the teapot. I found the directions easy to follow and the process and cleanup a breeze. Highly recommended.

As pictured and described.
It's a nice set for beginners, and includes instructions for use. The epoxy provided can only be stored for a year though, so it has to be used sooner rather than later.
