Amazing colour night vision!
Simple to setup and install. It comes with a 9v power adapter, but I'd read that I could use my existing 12v lead, and it's working fine. The image quality is excellent, especially the colour night vision! The design doesn't have a "hood" over the front of the camera, so much less likely to get spider webs etc. It supports RTSP & ONVIF, so I have it working with my NVR software (BlueIris) just fine. Given the price point, it's an excellent little camera!

Amazing quality
I needed something to add extra security to my property without needing to drill allot of holes, lift floorboards and carpeting so I decided to go for this little device, yes I did have to drill one hole in order for the power cable to be connected internally and three holes for the screws to attach it to the wall but that was it! The device itself looks well built and of a good quality. There is a slot on the underside of the camera unit that is secured with two screws and this is where you can install a micro SDXC card which is a nice touch in helping prevent someone easily removing the storage card. I followed the quick start guide, downloaded the app and installation was simple. I did have to register and create a free account to set the app up but that was it, there are options available for a subscription but you don't need this for general use! Just power, storage card and either a Ethernet lead of Wi-Fi to make it work. Once everything was set up and connected I can honestly say the picture quality is amazing! I have a rather dark back garden and at night the camera picture is clear as if it was daylight and to add an extra wow factor it was in colour and I could still see everything. You do have the option of switching to monochromatic night vision but I didn’t need it. You can set up zones using the app where you want to camera to watch for and if these zones are activated either by someone crossing the line or zone you have set the app will notify you of activity and you can also set the cameras spot light to come on and even sound an alarm 🚨 to warn the intruder that they activity os being watched/recorded, you can even speak through the camera and hear what’s going on should you wish too. I think this camera is worth every penny and I am so impressed with its quality and features I will be ordering more for the rest of my property.

Good value for money - crisp, clear picture
I purchased this camera after my EUFY failed on me and EUFY didn't want to know. This time I opted for a camera with power rather than rely on batteries and I am impressed. The quality of the unit is very good, it is easy to install and the app just works. I had to purchase a separate Micro SD card for storage but I picked up a 128GB one for just over a tenner but that means I can record more than I have ever done before. The set up of the motion detection etc. is a bit trial and error and the cameras lights seem to come on when they feel like it, but I will persevere and get this sorted eventually. If you are looking for a discreet little camera this is it. Don't be put off by the 'ears' on the camera, it just means you can place the camera further away from your wifi hub. Be aware that the power lead isn't that long though (at a guess 2.5m), so it you need the unit further away you may need to look a battery unit or look at sourcing an alternative power supply (the cable is similar to an old door bell wire).

Model C325WB - Not quite what I wanted 🙁
Excellent security camera with some great features. The person/vehicle/animal recognition works very well and the recording and alert function are great. Easy to fit and connect to the WiFi or ethernet. The night vision is however a little disappointing for my application. I bought this camera more for astronomy use than security as the ability to have full colour night vision, as advertised, does not work in the Version2 camera. There was no mention in the advertising that there is a difference between V1 and V2 cameras operating firmware/software. The F1.0 lens is brilliant in the dark and is useful for spotting aurora and meteors etc but unlike the V1 camera the V2 switches to IR in low light and then turns on the spotlights and reverts to colour when motion is detected. There is no option to turn off the IR or spotlights in the menus, unlike V1. This means there is little difference between this camera and any other that switches between colour and IR (black and white) in low light. The spotlights turning on could also alert intruders to the presence of the camera, not always desirable. So although a great feature packed camera the V2 is not as good as the V1 for astronomy and debatably some features not good for security usage. I have not used the audio features so cannot comment about them but I guess they will work well. I can only hope TP-Link issue a software update that gives the ability to turn the IR and spotlights off. Then it would be perfect.

Tapo C320WS – Outstanding Upgrade from Yale System
I recently upgraded from my old Yale SV-D8 4MX-B LAN-connected CCTV system to the Tapo C320WS, and I can honestly say the difference is night and day. Setup & Installation: Installation was seamless. I drilled directly through the wall into the house, so the cables are fully protected from the elements. Each camera was easily mounted and connected via LAN, and the Tapo app guided me through setup without a hitch. It just worked — no fussing with ports, firmware, or awkward settings. Performance: The video quality is a massive step up from my old Yale system — the 2K resolution is incredibly sharp both day and night, and the colour night vision with the integrated spotlight is genuinely impressive. The cameras lock on to motion reliably, and with a bit of tweaking to the detection zones, false alerts have been minimal. Smart Features & App: The Tapo app is well thought out, offering granular control over motion detection, activity zones, and alerts. The two-way audio and built-in siren are nice bonuses, and I love that I don’t need a subscription — local recording on a micro-SD card just makes sense. LAN connectivity means there’s no lag, buffering, or dropout — something that plagued my old setup. Compared to Yale SV-D8 4MX-B: These Tapo cameras are far superior. The image quality, smart features, ease of use, and build quality are leagues ahead. The old Yale system felt clunky and outdated, while the C320WS feels modern, robust, and efficient. I also appreciate that I no longer need a bulky DVR hub — each camera runs independently with its own storage. If you’re replacing an older wired system like Yale’s SV-D8 series, the Tapo C320WS is a no-brainer. Better quality, easier setup, more intelligent features — and no ongoing subscription. Very impressed so far.

Another Great camera from Tapo
I bought the 2 pack Tapo security camera last month as a upgrade from a similar camera. On my review of that order, I noted that I planned to expand my system with more cameras in the future . About a month has gone by and my feelings for this system are still the same. I added this OUTDOOR camera to replace an older camera on my driveway. The COLOR night time view literally blew me away. At first , I started getting too many false alerts picking up cars on the road. I then made a "BOX" for the motion sensing that didn't include the road...Boom..No more false alerts.. I did notice if I enable the " AI "mode for vehicles..It still picks up the cars that I didn't include in my motion area I chose...it seems Like it overrides the box and looks at the whole screen. This was easily fixed by disabling the AI for AUTOs. Setup was a breeze , just adding it to my other 2 Tapo cameras . Details are clear and I can easily read a license plate anywhere in my driveway. Alerts are sent almost instantly , and I will probably activate the free trial on this camera for offline storage. Remember to buy the 256 gb SD card when you buy these cameras. 2 screws must be removed to put the SD card in , and they are tiny tiny screws. Once you insert the card , you will be good to go. The software will format the card , and you can choose 24/7 recording , or motion activated recording. Record the motion clips that you want , save them to memory , then go to memory and you can view , download , or delete the clips to your phone. You can do all of this without a subscription. It's a great addition to my security system , and I plan to add the Battery Powered cameras in time so I can view my backyard . Tapo has proven to be a great family of security cameras for all situations. Whether it a baby monitor , outdoor , wireless , battery powered, or motion tracking , this collection is great and all work together with one well written ,easy to use app. Keep up the great work Tapo ! UPDATE : After a couple of months use , I thought I would add to this review. Now , someone user left a Lengthy review and 90 percent of it is user error. You can EASILY record video to your phone from the SD card without removing anything. If you get a notification , So .... The way to save videos does actually vary between my indoor and outdoor cameras . The Indoor cameras have 3 dots after the clip , and if you select the 3 dots it gives you the option to DOWNLOAD the clip . Selecting this DOWNLOADS the clip to the MEMORY of your SD CARD ... Then if you look up toward the top of the screen .. You will be able to select " Memory " and all the clips you downloaded will be here .... Selecting the clip you want will give you the option to delete , view , or even Download this video to you phone . NOW ... the Outdoor camera has changed a little bit on how to do this without a subscription....When you are watching the selected video , you must press the little camera button while viewing the video , then press it again to stop the recording ... It will the save the clip you recorded to the " MEMORY " section of the SD CARD.. At this point you can click on the clip to view , delete , or DOWNLOAD it to your phone! It's 2 easy steps to save it on your phone...Once you know how to do it , it's very easy....Don't believe the users that say you can't save clips to your phone .. Now for an actual small issue I had . My outdoor camera has an occasional issue ...I attribute this to the distance from my router. Last week , the spotlight stayed on for a couple days???...I unplugged the unit..Rebooted it...multiple times and it was not working correctly... I will admit I was a little upset..but I decided to do a factory reset by pushing the reset button that's in the SD card cover...That was the best thing I could have done ..I reconnected it to my app ..And the camera is now working correct again.... No dropouts , Motion Spotlight works , and I am happy it was just a factory reset that it took to fix it .. It's been working good for 2 weeks straight now ...We did have a power outage a couple weeks ago , and I think that may have messed my outdoor camera up a bit ..Overall...I still think it's the best budget camera system you can get.. No monthly fees and still does everything I want it to do . After months of use, I came up with the following way to set my camera up as the best for my driveway ,and sidewalk . I DISABLED motion sensing , as ANY motion including trees , shadows , distant cars , would always trigger alerts , I disabled the vehicle sensing as it would alert me of all the cars on the road .. I set " Person " alert and this picks up all " people " riding or walking and works perfect ... The other setting I enabled was " Line crossing " and made a line that gives me a notification if anything crosses the middle of my driveway . The combo of Line crossing , and Person alert has made this system work the way I wanted it to .. I see my driveway , and the road but do not get alerts for the traffic on the road .. Only if they pull in my driveway ... The person detection seems to work great when a person is walking anywhere ... It took a little bit of playing to reduce false alerts ... But now that I have it tweaked out , it is an amazing system to have.
