My favourite office chair just isn't high enough for my long legs and so I avoid using it but I saw this replacement ANMOO Chair Gas Lift and thought it might solve the issue - and it has. These gas lift tubes seem to be very similar in dimensions but obviously it's going to be worth double-checking your chair has a similar unit in place before you begin. The other thing you might want to check is that you can get the existing unit out of the chair - this is by far the most difficult part and I'd suggest you search for an explanatory video online first. Not least because there's absolutely no information in this pack, not even a warning about how dangerous these units can be if mishandled.Short version - you'll need a mallet/hammer and something like a pipe wrench (preferably an actual pipe wrench) to remove an existing unit. It's not too hard to remove the bottom feet assembly (the bit with the castors) but getting the existing unit out of the hole it slots into on the underside of the chair is a real nightmare. It's just a friction joint with no bolts or screw-thread but it'll likely be jammed in there solid and will probably take quite a bit of persuasion to remove.This replacement unit arrives in simple packaging with, as mentioned, no documentation at all and just a plastic safety cap on the top end covering the release button. This is the dangerous bit - if you uncover the button and press it by mistake the unit can shoot out to full length and if it's pointed in the wrong direction cause an injury. This unit is stronger and faster than the one it replaced so worth taking some care with it. Once you remove the existing unit this one should just slot into its place and you're done.My old gas lift unit was black whereas this one is chromed and actually looks much better in the chrome feet assembly of my chair than the old one did, so I got lucky. This one must also be a fraction wider because it sits higher in the feet assembly than the previous one did, which also looks better and means that even at the lowest setting this one is slightly higher. At full height this one is significantly higher and lifts the seat almost up to a drafting chair height, it's certainly now the highest chair I have. The difference in height isn't actually that much in centimetres but it makes a big difference in comfort and flexibility. If you need to sit higher it's certainly a possible solution, worked for me.
