The only analog vtx you’ll ever need!!!
On 2.5W trees even buildings get penetrated… keep on low power until first arm or it’ll die with no airflow! Conflicting data as far as the protocol goes, it runs (SA2.1) smart audio not IRC Tramp like the hglrc website Says. I’ll buy one for every analog quad I got that has the room to fit it! it makes 800 mw and 1600mw seem like a joke! Please don’t buy them all up, leave a few for the rest of us lol. I leave this comment after having 4 so I feel informed enough to have an opinion… happy flying 5 stars

This is not irc tramp!!!!!
This doesn't support irc tramp. The protocol is smart audio. Every place selling this item states its irc. Fix your information if your selling products with improper information!!!!!

Great range for FPV has gotten so much cheaper and this VTX is awesome.
I love this VTX. It has more range than can use, it has great penetration through solid objects for a VTX and I didn't even need to max out the power. It has so many features that i don't use I can't comment on them, but it is nice to have the options for expansion if you do decide to upgrade.Personally I just like having fun flying in FPV. I do analog and digital and while digital is nice, analog still has great appeal to me when flying FPV. I'll do digital for site seeing and analog for zipping around like a tiny maniac. This is a great VTX for analog guys.

2.5W in a Small Package
For an analog VTX 2.5W is a crazy amount of output power. This VTX is great for noisy, bando, or long range environments. The 2.5W guarantees your best chance of getting a signal back to your goggles. It comes sandwiched in aluminum heatsinks in an attempt to keep it cool at full power. I would definitely ensure this has good airflow or a fan to keep it cool. It also includes both an SMA adapter and a simple linear antenna to hook up as well as some cables. My only concern is the mounting. Although it’s a standard mounting size, the PCB screw points have an air gap due to the aluminum heatsink. I would 3D print a spacer or use some washers to fill the gap before mounting it fully. Overall, a powerhouse of an analog VTX in small form factor.

I would recommend this. It worked with my Pixhawk and will be a good addition to my Hexcopter.
Tested it out before it goes on my Hexcopter. Worked well with a Pixhawk 2.4 flight controller. I did need to dig up instructions and such.

Little powerhouse
Compared to my 1W AKK VTX this thing maintains a substantially stronger signal through a variety of environments. I usually fly in fairly congested areas as in tons of trees and buildings and this has consistently maintained a super strong signal without any dropouts. It does run pretty hot at full power, so like the other reviewer stated, leave it a lower power settings until you're ready to fly or add active cooling. This absolutely needs to be exposed to the air stream or it will overheat at the higher power settings. For fixed wing that means mount it externally or keep it in the propwash with a place for it to vent out the bottom or tail, for multirotor that means the stack needs to be unobstructed on both sides with the fin gaps facing into the wind.Overall I am super stoked on this. So far it's been a workhorse and super reliable.
