Well made, heavy unit
The gun appears to be well made. The only problem I have experienced is the charge loads don't always feed as smoothly as they should. It's not a big problem, but you do have to fiddle with it sometimes. The other thing I noticed is the 27 caliber loads do not appear to produce any more force than the standard 22 caliber loads that are used in other, less expensive drivers. I have a Remington driver that you manually load one charge and one nail into and then hit the end with a hammer to drive the nail. I could not get it to fully penetrate a steel and concrete frame, so I figured I'd get the larger caliper gun to get the one inch nail to fully penetrate. It didn't work; the nail doesn't penetrate any deeper than it did with my Remington. I used the hottest loads (red) and the shortest nail (1") and still could not get full penetration. The Ramset gun is faster than the Remington, since you only have to load the nail each shot. If you are going to be driving a lot of nails, it is probably worth the extra price. In addition, it is easier to use, since you only pull the trigger, versus having to hit the end with a hammer.

Works very well
Used for putting up furling straps in concrete walls and for framing. Been using Ramset guns for years since the old hammer strike models. Meter had a problem but also take care of tool oil regularly and clean.

Gets the Job Done
I've been pretty impressed with this tool. I've driven about 200 nails into 70 year old concrete and have only had a few nails that didn't seat flush with the 2x4 I was attaching. However, with a little pounding with a hammer, the proud nails will seat. I would recommend trying out the different strength loads to see which one works best for your concrete. My concrete required the strongest load. Now that I have the Cobra, being able to fire nails into concrete is so much easier compared to my old method of drilling holes and using tapcons or similar products.

They did not send a Cobra III, I received a much cheaper Cobra +.
I received a Cobra + which sells for about $100 less than the Cobra III as shown and described. I sent it back. The Cobra III is all metal, the Cobra + has plastic parts.

This gun drives them home in hard concrete
Purchased this to replace a 20 year old Ramset. This is a much better tool that is much easier to load. Very happy with this purchase
