Wesson's Watercolour Secrets With Steve Hall

Steve Hall has a clear teaching style: he breaks down Wesson's approach to impressionistic watercolour painting step by step; with reference to the use of particular brushes and the mix of colours. Steve encourages the viewer to practise, practise, practise, don't give up and in the process develop your own style of painting. The DVD gives ample examples and in my opinion 1 hour and 36 minutes of enjoyable viewing.Although watercolour can be an unforgiving medium, it can be one of the most rewarding; this DVD encourages you to stick at it. I not only recommend this DVD but also Steve Hall's other DVD collection, regardless of the painters ability. To quote Steve Hall, "The difference between a good watercolour painting and a bad painting is that the good painting does not have so many mistakes in it".

This DVD is for those who wish to develop their own loose 'Wesson' style of painting. Steve provides details of the basics in terms of colours, brushes used and provides tips and hints on how to create simple effects. There is so much to be learned watching an artist such as Steve Hall paint. I can also recommend his DVD Classic Wesson Watercolour. Both are suitable for beginners and for those more experienced who wish to develop a looser style.
