EASY WAY TO LEARN SIERRA LEONE KRIO: IZI WE FϽ LAN SALON KRIO

Superb resource
I've been a fan of the Fanny Fayn/Fanny Fine Youtube channel for quite a while. I've used it, along with a text and separate audio/pdf course to learn Krio. It's such a great resource for spoken Krio, from the perspective of someone who learned it as a non-native language. She provides unique insight into learning the language, for that reason. It's often said Krio and other creole's and pidgins can't be learned, as one would learn other languages (such as English, French, Yoruba, Chinese, etc.), but with this book matched with her youtube lessons, it's certainly possible to get a grasp of the language. The text is appropriate for both children and adults, the 1st chapters include a ton of common vocabulary and photos (so important to associate the word with the person, place, or idea, so as not to get stuck translating). There's a section where children can practice counting while learning the numbers in Krio and trace letters while learning the alphabet and it eases you into learning the basics such as greetings and common constructions. Basic grammar (adverbs, adjectives, nouns, tenses, etc.) and many idioms and examples of Krio colloquialisms. There are stories and letters included, and spaces where you can write in the text. The combo of this text and the YT channel is a winner. A good buy for me as a language learner.
