A worthwhile add-on accessory for the Rode Go II, especially if you're an event videographer and routinely hand a mic around to capture on-the-spot comments and interviews from the guests. Being able to slot your Rode Go II transmitter into the top of the handle and cover it with a wind/pop screen really simplifies that process and takes advantage of the best capabilities of the Rode system. I do already have the Rode handheld mic adapter and windscreen, so was able to directly compare the SUNMON to the original Rode.Here's what I found out: the handle as almost identical to the Rode, with only a couple of minor differences. The grooves for holding the transmitter's shoe mount are tapered slightly differently which makes it more difficult to use the SUNMON for non-Rode transmitters (I have a Hollyland Lark Max that I tried with this, and it would not go in all the way.) Shouldn't be a problem for Rode mics, though. Secondly, the SUNMON has a flat rubber pad where the bottom of the transmitter meets the main handle body, and the original Rode (at least the one I have) does not. This acts as a little bit of an isolation pad to help keep handling noise from coming up the handle to the transmitter/mic capsule. In general, the plastic construction of this handle by itself seems to help prevent handling noise.A couple of other things. The windscreen appears virtually identical in size and construction to the original. The SUNMON handle is round, while the OEM handle has a slightly flattened side. The flattened side may ostensibly be there to help keep it from rolling, but with the windscreen on, both of them will roll, flat side or no. It's a design feature, nothing more.Bottom line: a great accessory for event videographers at substantially reduced price from the OEM cost. Recommended.
