Great external drive enclosure for hard drives or SATA SSDs!!!
This is a great little external drive enclosure!!! I love it! It works with a 2 1/2 inch hard drive. It works well with all of my SATA SSDs. I haven't tried any other SSDs because this device is designed for hard drives requiring the SATA interface. Your NVME SSDs will not work because of the difference in interface technology. I bought some cheap internal SATA SSDs, 2 1/2 inch form factor, and installed them in these drive enclosures. Installation is TOOL FREE! Finally an enclosure that actually IS tool free! I love it! I bought cheap 500 gig drives and I'll be using them to transfer files between unconnected systems. I'll also be sharing my 16 terabyte video library with friends using this enclosure with the half TB drive. In that space I can store about 200 movies, or 300 to 400 TV shows. The enclosure is small, and barely thick enough to house the drive. It is well made, and I expect it to last a good long time. Speed? Yes and no. Speed depends not on the enclosure but on the drive you install in the enclosure. So far I've seen up to 700 MB per second using this enclosure with a good SSD, but my usual trasfer results are more in the 250 to 350 MB/second. I really like this drive enclosure. It fits easily in my pockets. It protects the hard drive or SSD you put into it. Connections are super easy using the built in USB C port, and the included cable looks cheap, but it really performs well. Great deal, great combination! 5 stars definitely!

Hard drive enclosure
I used to turn old laptop hard drives into external storage. It worked great

It works well for the price
It does take some drive formatting to get an old laptop HDD going with this but once you do. It functions rather well. Its slim doesn’t take up too much space. For the price it’s not a bad buy. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, even with a Hard drive installed it’s not very loud. I managed to install a few hundred Gb of files onto it, while it won’t be nearly as fast as an M.2 it isn’t nearly as slow as a SD card. It’s cheap and so far it works just fine. My only complaint would be the length of the USB cable. If you’re using a full sized ATX tower, it’s a bit short.
