I have been using these over the past couple of days for hand rolled blends, mainly to reduce throat irritation and cut down on the harsher compounds. The first thing that stood out is the consistent shape and tamping of the carbon. The fill density seems well balanced, firm enough to filter effectively but not so tightly packed that it becomes unusable. The activated carbon is coconut based, which tends to offer a higher internal porosity compared to coal based variants. In practice this means it absorbs more of the heavier particles and some of the vapour phase compounds that usually cause scratchiness. The result is a noticeably cooler smoke with less bite, and the moisture reduction is particularly clear on longer burns. The ceramic end caps also help stabilise the temperature at each end, so the filter does not soften or crumble even after repeated draws. Handling is easy since both ends are identical, and the slim diameter integrates nicely without distorting the shape of the roll. I also found that airflow remains consistent across multiple uses, which suggests the carbon does not shift or collapse internally. A minor con is that the draw is a little firmer than a standard tip, especially once the carbon begins to saturate. It is still perfectly usable, just something to be aware of if you prefer very light resistance. Despite the minor drawback, it feels like a reliable and well made product.

Not 5mm they are 6mm. They remove the taste and everything tastes of carbon. I really wanted to like these despite the very high cost , they were recommended but a hard pass for me.
