What initially drew me to this speaker was the fact that it was solar charging. I haven't seen any mainstream speakers use that technology. When I first pulled it out of the box it immediately started charging using the solar panels on top which surprised me! You don't have to set it to charge with solar power, it does it automatically as indicated by the LED light.There are dedicated buttons for previous track, play/pause, next track. If you hold the next/previous it is also volume up and volume down. I love that they added this because other Bluetooth speakers usually don't have both. There is also an LED flashlight than be turned on with a double press, which at first i thought was a problem, but now I realize its so it doesn't accidentally turn on with a single press. I also love the fact that you can answer calls and talk to the person through the speaker!!! So now when someone calls I don't have to run to find my phone when I'm playing music. There's a built in microphone that works well, and you can even call the last person on your call list with the press of a button.The speaker is louder than I expected at this price range. No, you wont get noise complaints from your neighbors, but if you play this at max with friends over, you will be yelling at each other. I love loud music and I wouldn't play it above 70% volume indoors. Anything louder and i'm annoying my family. I listen to a lot of Rap and at max volume the vocals get a tad distorted because of the bass, but as i said I don't think ill ever need it to be at max volume.I cant speak on how long the battery lasts on a charge, because it seems like every chance it gets it is charging with solar power. it does come with a charging cable and an aux cord, if you're looking to save battery and want to plug your phone in.Overall I think this is an amazing speaker, and the solar aspect of it is a great touch. It has all the controls you need on it, with the added features of an LED flashlight and being able to answer your phone!

I just purchased my second one. The first one was one of the first bluetooth speakers I ever bought. I never jumped into the craze of bluetooth speakers when they first started coming out but when I saw that this speaker had something none of the other mainstream speakers had, a solar panel to charge the battery, I had to go for it. I think I have only had to charge my speaker once since I've gotten it and that was to give it a full battery out of the box. And because of its durability I'm not afraid to have it with me on the river or doing outside work.At one point I couldn't find this speaker for a while and then it ended up back at the house. Turns out, my dad took it from the house for his golf cart. He said he loved it! And never once did he have it die on him. That's why I purchased a second one, to give to him.Honestly a great speaker that can get pretty loud. The only criticism I have is that the sound quality has room for improvement compared to others but I also understand that trying to make it rugged and water-resistant does take a toll on improving certain parts. There has to be compromise somewhere.

I've had the Solarbox for a couple of weeks now and it's been working really well for me. I haven't had to charge it since the initial time after pulling it out of the box. It hangs from my backpack since I attached a carabiner to it and seems to charge from the sun while I'm on the move. The indicator for charging lights up fairly easily when exposed to the sun but I'm not sure if it's actually as sensitive as that may lead you to believe. Sound quality is pretty standard overall, holding it's own at max volume which is pretty loud but it wont blow you away with bass or anything. The actual sound seems to be coming out from just one side although the design would lead you to believe that there's a true stereo set up in it.I've only got two issues with it, one being that the physical Vol -/Vol + buttons on it act as rewind/skip when playing from my phone which I've encountered on other speakers as well and wish someday will stop happening. The second and biggest issue with it is that the bluetooth antenna on it seems to be pretty weak forcing me to leave my phone 6 to 8 feet from it while indoors or 3 to 4 feet outdoors before the audio just cuts out. Other bluetooth speakers I've used my phone with have given me a much longer range of use making this speaker pretty disappointing on the wireless side of things.Overall, the convenience of solar charging at this price makes it a good product for people in need of non stop tunes while outdoors. Now, if it only could charge my phone as well......

The media could not be loaded.  I got this for Christmas from my family and it worked ok, I did not really use it much until recently and it started making a crackling sound when it plays music. I am now looking for documentation or a way to contact the company. I think I am beyond the return window with amazon so I am probably out of luck. At this point, I would not buy another product from this company, if I can figure out who the company is. I guess I should stick with the cheapo speakers from five below, or drop $100 for one with a name brand that I have some hope of getting satisfaction from if it dies after a few days of real use.

1. The audio quality is pretty good considering the speaker's size and the audio being sent over Bluetooth. It also has the option to connect via AUX. Super convenient.2. Easy to charge. The solar panels work great. No need to worry about charging the speaker. Perfect for using it outdoor.3. Good quality. It is water-proof and has great durability.4. Easy to use. Unlike some speakers with many fancy control panels, I figured out what those buttons on the speaker do pretty fast.Overall, a perfect choice for an outdoor/party speaker!
