I wanted to be able to accomplish two things while using my computer. I use TV's as monitors so i wanted to watch streaming apps while adulting on said computer. This works for being able to do simultaneous actions on a computer. I have a tower and haven't used it on my laptop. Some of the other reviews i read and even the instructions that came with this extended display said you have to go to the website but it no longer exists and honestly i didn't need to do anything but place it in my computer tower and hooked up the HDMI cable to the second TV. (With a tower, you have one HDMI cable connected directly to the monitor/TV and the tower and won't need to plug it into the splitter. Just the second monitor/TV. This avoids having to plug the second monitor into the 1080p output unless you add a third monitor/TV. ) Turning on both TV's the splitter automatically extended my monitor screen. This took me a while to figure out since the second TV was to my left, you have to move your mouse to the right till you see it on the second screen. Also you have to open your programs on the main monitor/TV and drag it to the second screen. This will change your audio if you're using TV's automatically when using streaming apps. To turn it back you have to go to your volume controls on the main screen and switch audio. For monitors, i can't help you with that except you're likely be using speakers so it may not matter which screen you're using since your audio comes from the speakers. If you close the program in the second screen, and you decided to reopen it from the main screen it won't pop up on the main screen but the second screen. So if you want to prevent that, drag the program you have open back to the main screen then close the program. Otherwise being annoyed about the (install program) not being necessary and a lack of how to access the second screen for a while. I very much use and enjoy this HDMI splitter extender.

Works as it should. Was able to run extra monitors on my laptop with out any issues.

I bought this to use through a usb-c hub so I'd only have to plug one thing into my laptop to dock it. Initially, I thought it didn't work, but then I found that plugging it in directly (not through the hub) _did_ work...and so did plugging it into the usb-a 3.0 port in the hub. I downloaded the DisplayLink drivers from Synaptics and didn't need the software from Taiwan (though I only figured that out after installing and uninstalling it). Update: the product fizzled out after abot 3 months, but product support was excellent and they replaced it promptly. They also told me there's a 2 year warranty, which is reassuring.

Bought this for my home office, works great. Only complaint is that is does not work with my USB-C hub. Because of this I lose the thunderbolt port that I rely on for so much of my data transfers.

I bought this HDMI for use at work and as such I rely on it every day--and it has never missed a beat. Great investment!

I returned it for an exchange because it would stop working if I touched my phone while using it. If i had the power plugged into it when I plugged it into my phone it made my phone think there was moisture or dirt in the charging port. The replacement has the exact same issues. Amazon will not allow another exchange. There is no information to get it fixed through the manufacturer. I ended up buying an Anker branded one that works great. Get something name brand and avoid this junk.
