The inspiring true stories of the interesting people who inhabit the pages of Sudha Murty's books leave an indelible impression on us. But the books are able to chronicle the stories of only the men and women Mrs Murty has actually come across herself in the course of her social work. There must be so many more wonderful stories that many others have to share. Something Happened on the Way to Heaven is a collection of twenty such memorable true life stories. Handpicked by Sudha Murty from a contest run by Penguin, they capture the hope, faith, kindness and joy that life is full of, even as we make our way through the daily grind. Moving and uplifting, this is an anthology that will engross and delight every reader who believes in the goodness of the human heart. Live for yourself and care for needy...
This is the 5th book in a row by Sudha Mambthat I read. I used to hear a lot about you , but was never getting chance to read your book. Now, the way I have got the chance to read your books one after another, I am hopeful, one day I will get a chance to meet you❤️. " Something happened on the way to heaven": The way stories are chosen, fills the reader with a lots of positive thoughts, inspires to go ahead in the right direction may what the situation be(Savita's story, What goes around comes around, etc.) . It also has shown how confidence is the key to success in the toughest dreams . Each and every stories have so many messages to give. " Elixir" has portrayed the love between elderly couple so nicely ....A must read 📚. Thank you Sudha ji for offering such variety .... Regards Snigdha

Stories edited by Sudha Murty..
This book is collection of 20 inspiring real-life short stories written by Sudha Murthy’s readers and edited by her. Few of the stories are from people who are affected by the incidents like 1947 partition, Mumbai bomb blast, 2010 aero bridge accident in Hyderabad etc. These stories transport you to various parts of India and triggers numerous emotions in you. Some of the stories are heartening. Overall I enjoyed reading. My favorite stories from the book: - Acceptance - The Dhaka Girl - Elixir - A New Beginning - An Encounter of Special Kind My Take away from this book - 1. “Love is like all those nice things around us that aren’t always visible. Like a rainbow. You don’t always see it. You just have to trust it’s there”. 2. Once love is given in the universe, it can never go to waste; it will come back to you when you need it the most, in a form that you have never known.
