Look very good without painting, fairly easy to assemble!
This model kit was my first foray into Gunpla. I was a little intimidated by ratings like "Master-Grade" and whatnot, but those names really are just marketing to make the model seem more valuable. I can safely say as a beginner that I was able to build this model casually over the course of a couple of weeks without much trouble, and it looks great! You WILL need, at the minimum, the following to build this kit comfortably:- Nice sharp model nippers/flush-snips (Some of the pieces are quite small and fragile, so don't skimp on this)- A hobby knife- Sanding/buffing/polishing apparatuses (tri-grit sanding sticks are what I used)I also used the following to really give the finished product a "professional" feel:- Gundam pour-type ink pens for panel lining (these are VERY easy to use and markedly improve the look of the model)- Tweezers for applying some of the very small decals- A matte top-coat spray can (makes the model look less plastic-y)All of the above tools cost me less than $50, but the extra cost is still there so consider it.The kits articulation is quite good, it's very poseable. It has tons of gimmicks that are fun too: the back-mounted thrusters open by pulling on the little stabilizer wing and they have a multi-point articulated opening action. The waist-boosters also open up. The Dober gun has recoil action as well which is cool. The kit comes with a LOT of decals. I couldn't believe how many I ended up applying to this thing. The sticker-type decals are OK, not great. At a distance, you can't tell and they look fine, but up close they are really apparent. The kit also comes with dry-transfer decals, which are actually quite easy to apply when you learn how, and look really, really good up-close. They are mainly the larger decals.Overall I would say it was a great first model for me, and anyone else who wants to get into model-building and has a fond rememberence of the Lightning Count from Gundam Wing!

Mg tallgeese is an all around solid kit
Mg tallgeese is an all around solid kit. It was simple and interesting to put together. The design and colours are appealing and work together to create a very unique and detailed mobile suit. With tallgeese's headpiece, shield and rounded armor, its difficult not to draw parallels to a greco-roman warrior of some sort. The kit comes with a set of stickers and dry transfer decals which can add more detail to the finished model. The posability and movement of mg tallgeese is pretty good, although it is slightly backheavy. It also has a decent amount of weapons and gimmicks. The shield and gun each connect to the upper arms by a few pivoting parts, which give the weapons a good range of motion. The gun has a spring-loaded front barrel and the tallgeese's jetpack and back skirts open up to reveal thrusters for flight. There are also two curved, red beam sabers included and the hilts can be stored behind the shield. The only minor complaint about this kit are the 2 yellow stickers used for the jetpacks wings. For its price range however, mg tallgeese is a worthwhile purchase and an all around solid kit.

One of my favorite kits
The Master Grade Tallgeese was a pretty fun kit to build.Even unpainted it still looks pretty great and there's a good amount of angles you can pose it into. I've done some slight panel lining on mine and haven't placed any stickers on it other than for the eyes and the main gun. My only complaints about it is that for the main gun & somewhat for the shield, it's a bit difficult to have it in a lot of different angles because the hand wants to detach from the arm if stretched too far but it's not that big of a problem because both the gun and shield are attached at the shoulder as well so they dot even need a hand to hold them in place.Like most of the Gundam Wing kits, it's pretty solid and doesn't feel like it'll fall apart easily. There may be some stability issues with the weight distribution of the booster packs on the back if you're trying to stand this kit up on its feet but I haven't really tried it yet. You're able to angle the boosters up,down, left and right so you may be able to find a good angle to stand it up in. Overall great kit.

Great model, though 1 small problem.
the model arrived on time and intact, however the instruction manual was completly in japanese with no english. while its easy enough to interpret the images for constructing the model, it would've been nice to have an english manual.

his rather nice variety of poses are limited
The long awaited Master Grade of the Tallgeese 1 is a beauty for hobby builders. I'll start with what few cons I can come up with. The hands are partials that are interchangeable, and can be tough to swap out.Tallgeese is a bit back heavy. Without a proper stand, his rather nice variety of poses are limited. The color sticker for the vernier rockets is fragile and harder to apply. If you have any skill with paint or gunpla panel markers, you should do that instead of using those stickers. The eyes are clear instead of the classic blue sheen, also needs custom painting if you want to change it.On a neutral note, the color scheme and slight design elements are made to match a modern redesign of Tallgeese1, if you prefer the old look you need to do some painting. If you like the new look, like I do, it's a cool take on a classic. The pros? Once you have a stand, it poses rather well. It can pose pretty okay without a stand, but you have to balance the thrusters. For the creative, you can rather easily mod it a bit to make a Leo unit. The joints are beautiful, the legs and arms have the right balance of support and flexibility. It looks wonderful with just some subtle panel lining, not hard to do even for those of us with little to no artistic abilities. Gray ultra fine marker, some time, and there you go. It's Tallgeese, which is worth 5 pros alone. The waist armor is some of the best I've seen on gunpla in the MG scale. It comes with two beam sabers, and two beams to match. The shield and dober gun make it fully armed, with no extra purchases. Can't rate it highly enough. If you liked Gundam Wing, get Tallgeese.
