Now before I get started with the review of the product, I feel it's important to clear the air of confusion around deodorants in general. Deodorants are not supposed to have a long lasting fragrance =============================================== I know this statement goes against how Deodorants are exhibited by the media where apparently emptying a can of deo on your body would instantly make you charming and irresistible. Guys, this is just a marketing gimmick. That's not what deodorants were meant for. Had that been the reality, then perfumed (EDP, EDC, EDT) would never have existed. The real purpose of a deodorant is to kill the bad odour causing bacteria so as to prevent body odour. That's it! Most conventional deodorants cannot fulfill this basic criteria and instead try to cover up body odour with a strong and pungent fragrance, which when mixed with your body odour later in the day, emits a disgusting smell and makes you repulsive instead of attractive. Bottomline - Deodorants are NOT supposed to replace perfumes. Their job is JUST to kill the odour causing bacteria and keep you odour-free. Hope this clears a lot of confusion around this and other deodorants in the market. With that out of the way, let's now come to this specific deodorant in question. Nivea is a leading global cosmetics brand and they know how to produce quality products. This deodorant roll on is no exception either. This comes with a roll on which not only helps with the application but also makes it last longer. The compound is really smooth and did not cause any irritation on my skin whatsoever. Since this is a viscous compound, the area after application would remain greasy but only for a couple of minutes. So there is no issue with that either. Coming to the fragrance itself - it has a very mild fragrance, just like the fragrance you get on a regular Nivea skin creme. It's mild and sophisticated. Not overpowering unlike other deos at all. You can easily wear your favourite perfume without this deo interfering with the scent of the perfume. Now coming to the efficiency of this product - Absolutely genius! This does the job it's supposed to. I never went 48 hrs without a shower so I don't know about that claim, but for 18-20 hrs, it works brilliantly. I didn't get the slightest of body odour during this time. So full marks to Nivea for the efficiency. Bottomline - This is a deodorant and it is excellent at its job. Do not expect to use it as a perfume. Highly recommended.

Have been using Nivea roll-ons for years now and am quite pleased with the scent (I dont like overly-flowery scents). It has decent staying power, obviously there is no such thing as 24-hr protection. That's marketing I'm a sporty person so I'm on the move a lot and so have to re-apply. Nivea needs to chill with the price. This shouldn't be upwards of Rs 90/-. India's mass market is enough to get them enough profit.

This is the one that I shall keep buying and using until the day I die. I know; tall promise given how easily we break promises in the postmodern world, but that's how it is. I'd always been skeptical about deodorants that you need to touch to your skin -- you know, because of hygiene concerns -- but most sprays in the market sting your skin like they're out to collect the wages of some old sin from you. So I said to myself "why not," and tried about ten different sticks / roll on deodorants: including those made by Old Spice, SpeedStick, Cinthol, and CalvinKlein until I reached this piece of perfection. Nivea Protect and Care is liquid-based, with the liquid being white. It doesn't give off any strong smell, but what little is there is sweet, unoffensive, and most importantly, does not run or stain your clothes. They're not kidding when they say "Protect & Care" either. No sting, and controls the perspiration (because it's an antiperspirant and not just a deodorant) very effectively. Lasts until the end of the day for me, and leaves a lingering whiff of pleasantness even then. Thank you Nivea!
