beautiful, innocent
Inspiring book about a strong, beautiful, innocent, honest and smart woman.(Mind you ,that is a rare combination coz, the more the beautiful a woman is, the less the honest she is, and innocent and smart generally never goes together. But oh! yeah.. it's Marilyn Monroe I am talking about- a unique and rare phenomenon.)But the book sort of ends in the middle of her life.Would have loved it even more, had the book covered till the end of her life.A book worth reading, especially if you are a young lonely girl with lots of dreams trying to figure out life.

Amazing book, wished it was longer
I love everything about this book, relatable. Good quality pages, beautiful Marilyn Pictures. I wish she lived a little longer, wrote a little more.

Bittersweet
I am a huge fan of Marilyn and collect anything to do with her, especially books. I received this book for Christmas. Read it straight away; couldn't put it down. It's as though Marilyn is speaking to you, spilling out her inner most thoughts and wishes. It starts with the struggles she had in her childhood and goes through her hard work in trying to break into Hollywood and finally finishes just after her marriage to Joe. It finishes somewhat abruptly, but that is purely due to her not carrying on this project I suspect and never revisiting it. Milton's photographs are a joy to behold and if you have his photographic book on Marilyn too, many of these pictures will be familiar to you, although there were a couple of gems in there which I had not seen.Marilyn, as we know, was a highly intelligent woman and this comes across. She was highly astute about many issues and when I was reading this book I was amazed that many of her insights into situations are still relevant today. There is a wistfulness and sadness that I feel runs through the book. But maybe that is just because we know how this story ends. However in reading this book it does give you a glimpse into this amazing lady, but of course makes you wish things had ended very differently for her.Anyway a must for any Marilyn fan or indeed Hollywood fan.

Memories from Norma Jean
First let me just say I hardly ever read non-fiction but after I read others reviews, I decided to purchase this book. It's a strange book. I had to keep reminding my self it wasn't fiction. It jumps a lot and you almost expect it to go on as fiction would. I haven't read much about Marilyn's life but this gives you a snap shot of her memories. I guess you could say you get a snap shot of Norma Jean the woman not Marilyn the goddess. I still feel I would like to read more about her life, this doesn't cover enough but has left me wanting to know more about this beautiful lonely lady. It's a good book, not what I was expecting. The photos are lovely.

facinating book. but really sad.
I've always been fascinated by marilyn Monroe since I was a child. So when I seen this book of her story I wanted to give it a go. What a moving book how she was passed around as a child from pillar to post and abused so young. I became very sad realising one soyoung could endure so much. She was also very careful not to name some names so it wasn't a kiss and tell. I was shocked at the abrupt ending but we all knew that her life ended suddenly. Beautiful rare pictures accompanied the book. Highly recommended.

Intelligent, funny Norma xx
I've been a huge huge fan of Marilyn for 27 years. I've always known about the little things that she was about and not the screen siren she was famous for; but this was such a heartbreaking yet warm and witty portrayal of her life experiences in her own words. I've been as captivated by her magic as any fan, but I got to know a little more about her with this book. if only it could have been completed..
