Apple CarPlay is a wonderful technology, but if your vehicle is just a bit older (mine is a 2022 Toyota Tacoma), it can't connect wirelessly to CarPlay. That required me to connect a USB cable to my phone every time I got into my truck and wanted to use any of the features of CarPlay. I was fine just connecting my phone via Bluetooth and leaving it at that.But this device changes everything! Now, when I get in my truck, my phone automatically connects to this device and connects CarPlay, as if it were plugged in. No more fumbling with cables. If I am on a long trip, I can still connect my phone via cable (although it is to another port) to charge it. But that's no big deal.Setting up is super simple (much easier than I expected). I've never had an issue with the phone failing to reconnect at startup. I typically and primarily use CarPlay to play music. Having the maps available is great. But the system seldom starts playing music automatically (which simple Bluetooth does). I've not found any settings that can change this. But, I think that may be an issue with CarPlay and not this device (I could be wrong). This is the only thing I wish worked better.If your vehicle has CarPlay available, but doesn't allow wireless connectivity, this is the device for you! It is just a bit on the pricey side, but the convenience of this device pays for itself quickly!

UPDATED+++Now I have previously bought and returned two other highly rated wireless CarPlay adapters of a different brand. Both had excessive lag that made the CarPlay experience poor plus the size of the adapters was larger and unsightly.This adapter seems superior to the others. The smaller size (like a large USB jump drive) allows the device to hide from prying eyes and protects it from bumping.The set up was easy and straight forward. Connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, update the software and it connects. It did have a hard time connecting on the second try but I restarted my iPhone and then it connected quickly and has been perfectly seamless at connecting since then.Everything performs just like wired CarPlay on my 2022 Subaru. Now there is some lag in commands but it’s not horrible and is fairly brief.UPDATE+++ My wife just got a 2025 Subaru with built in wireless Apple CarPlay from the factory. Her built in wireless CarPlay has the SAME amount of lag as this adapter. Now I'm even more impressed!It’s great to fire up my car and have wireless CarPlay connect within 8 seconds without having to take my iPhone out and plug it in. This adapter seems superior is well worth the money.

I own a Honda Ridgeline Black Edition 2017 which is notorious for having a poor usb connection for CarPlay. With a traditional usb cord connection, CarPlay would randomly disconnect and would not be able to reconnect until restarting the car. I tried many different high quality usb cords and the problem continued. I purchased this as a last attempt to have CarPlay work reliably and to my surprise it works great! No usb cord to get jostled which I think is why it works so great in the Ridgeline. It was very easy to set up, the connection has no noticeable lag, and it is very convenient having a wireless connection. I believe it is a very good value.

So far, so good! Instructions were clear and the item is very minimal in size with no dangling wires.Con: when connecting after starting your car and drive immediately , sometimes it wont connect (Acura MDX 2023). If I allow it to idle a few seconds 5-10 before starting to drive, it never fails. Good sound and connects faster to my car than my previous one.

So far so great, fast shipping and pairing was simple as plug and play.Just search for the Bluetooth and pair after a few clicks, easy as that.Connects super quick and convenient with day to day usage with no drop in sound quality at all.I love how small and sleek this device is compared to other ones on the market including my previous one that kept cutting in and out after years of usage.All in all I would say it’s a great sleek must have for everyone and anyone who wants wireless CarPlay and doesn’t want to mess with wires.But keep in mind the main drawback to live with is a second delay between switching songs which is nothing compared to the freedom of wireless!If this is on sale I say pull the trigger! You won’t be disappointed! And if you are, Amazon has the best return policy it’s a no brainer.
