I'm not sure, but this isn't Teflon, it is ceramic. I thought that PTFE was in Teflon and not ceramic. GreenPan does state that they are toxic free.

are the plates dishwasher safe ?

They are so easy to keep clean that we don’t even use the dishwasher. A dampcloth does it- NOTHING sticks to them.
