Great for extra storage
I bought these for inventory storage for my online store. They are sturdy, easy to assemble, and attractive!

Perfect size for how we used it.
We were looking for open shelving above our commode, for towel storage, and decorative items. This unit worked really well, even at 20+ lbs. We provided a lip for it to rest on, set into studs, and used ‘L’ brackets at the top to secure it to the wall. Perfect size and color. We found plugs for the extra holes and screw covers. And used some leftover crown molding to complete a custom look.

Sturdy White Bookcase
It took a while to put this bookcase together, but once it was done, it looked good. The instructions to put the bookcase together were easy to follow. It is very sturdy and fits the spot in my craft room. The bottom shelf holds 40 lbs and the other 2 shelves hold 25 lbs each. The top of the bookcase also holds 25 lbs.

Meets the need
Yes as other reviews mention, these are cheap. Well I agree they aren't top quality, but they aren't top price either, they are as expected. They are they only reasonably priced shelves I could find. I purchased four. I built them all quickly, about 10 minutes per set. The directions are fine. Whoever is talking about screws poking through didn't build them right. They are basic and easy to figure out. I lined them up together and have a lovely little set up for my office/homeschool classroom for a price I could afford. I won't overload them or climb on them etc and I'm sure they will be fine for years to come. I might also add they are a great size and depth. I am very happy. My only disappointment was the finish. It's a paper type laminate and it is mighty thin. But again, they were cheap.

Nice, affordable shelf
We purchased this bookshelf for our daughter’s room when we were unable to find the same shelf we had purchased from Target a few years earlier. It’s comparable to the Target shelf in size, price, and quality. It was easy to put together. I was able to build it by myself in about a half hour (while watching two of our children). The pieces came packaged well, with no missing or damaged parts. In terms of quality, it’s your basic particle board furniture. It’s not meant to be as sturdy as solid wood, but you’re also not paying what solid wood furniture costs. This was fine for us, as we wanted something smaller and inexpensive, to store our children’s books. The back of the bookcase is just a folded piece of fairly sturdy cardboard that is nailed onto the frame. If you’ve ever put together a lower cost piece of furniture, you’ll be familiar with this type of cardboard backing. It’s not terribly think but more so than your standard cardboard from a box. Once it is nailed in place, it provides the necessary support for the shelf.I was able to move the shelf myself...it’s not heavy with nothing on it. The shelves can be adjusted to the level you prefer and can be readjusted later if you so chose. I would not recommend trying to move the shelf with things on it; I think this would cause it to break or become less stable. I have moved it two separate times, emptying the contents before doing so, with no difficulty or damage to the shelf.Overall, this is a decent shelf for a low price. So, if you keep in mind that it’s not solid wood and treat it accordingly, I think you’ll find it’s a great buy.

Can't really ask for more for $40 -- very functional and versatile!
I have my desk toward this one corner with just the right amount of space available to get my books w/ bookends off my desk, if only I had something in this corner. Now my desk setup is rather huge -- so the last thing I want is one more piece of furniture that has to move with me, so I wasn't interested in getting a matching set or something expensive. Besides, it's mostly hidden by my desk and monitors,so I was looking for something functional. This really fits the bill. First, it's like $40. I'm not sure what other people are expecting for $40 but it stands on its own, the shelves are sturdy enough for textbooks, gadgets, laptops, pencil cases, etc. though I'd not put a jumping baby on one. It was easy to put together -- it took my guy about 10-15 minutes, though I did hear him using the drill to screw things in. The two shelves it comes with are completely adjustable, and the pegs that hold the shelves are easily removed and replaced into other holes--a big pet peeve of mine when shelf pegs don't come out! (But note: they're plastic.)So all in all, I am really satisfied with this purchase. The backing to the bookcase is indeed cardboard--and not even thick cardboard. But when you look at it, it's impossible to tell. One touch and you will notice it's definitely not any kind of real backing -- but it is screwed in.Also -- this company protects this $40 bookcase more than the company that sent me a $1200 dresser. Honestly, I was amazed. The shelf would probably die on its own, but in this packaging, I think you could chuck it off the fifth floor and have it survive. So good job on the packaging, folks!

decent little informal bookcase
I assembled these upside down for a bit more stability (bottom shelf fully rests on ground) so I could put my heavy books on the bottom. That means that if you stand several units next to each other, the tops of each unit will be slightly lower than the sides (which would be the feet if assembled correctly) meaning there is not one long flat top, but I am OK with that. Prices for this unit bounce around a lot so if you are buying multiples or are price sensitive, use Camel,Camel,Camel or another price tracker. The big discount stores starting with K and W also sell this brand. I ordered 10 from Amazon. They were packaged really well and I was happy to recycle the cardboard over a weedy area in my yard that I was turning into a garden plot. A few cosmetic issues, but no problems I could not live with or hide during the assembly process. The backs are worthless poster-board with folded-creases in them so I did not bother with adding them though they did make really good floor coverings while house painting. I supposed the backs help stabilize the units and they could definitely use that. I get by as I don't have kids that could topple them and I do put heavy stuff on the bottom. You might consider anchoring them to a wall.

As good as ikea
The board on the back doesn't stay secured so I can see it from the side, over all ok. Easy to assemble, sturdy.

Impressed
Easy to install by myself. As of right now seems pretty durable. There were reviews that the shelves fall out easily. I personally find it pretty snug and the shelves fit snuggly. This could change once there’s weight in it.Originally got frustrated as they changed the predicted arrival date. But it ended up arriving when it was advertised on the order page.
