I ordered this foam as a test to see if I wanted to use it across my entire workshop, and while I won’t do the whole thing, I’ll definitely use it where it makes sense. The foam itself is really sturdy but still soft enough that it’s easy to handle. Cutting it was a breeze with a sharp blade, and I even drilled holes to create perfect starting points for more intricate cuts—it worked great for fitting into my drawers without any need for a laser cutter.One thing to note is that the foam color was not exactly as advertised. I expected a darker red to match my toolbox, but it came in more of a salmon/pink hue. It’s not a dealbreaker, but just something to keep in mind. That said, the quality of the foam is excellent. It’s rigid enough to securely hold my tools in place, but not so hard that it feels cheap or rough.The size options (2' x 4') and the different thicknesses (1" and 2") are really practical for organizing everything from hand tools to larger power tools. The foam’s layered design is super handy since you can remove just the amount you need to get the perfect fit for your tools.Overall, this foam has been a great addition to my toolbox. If you like having everything neatly organized and easy to find, I highly recommend it!

I was expecting black with a red center as in the picture. I liked the idea of the red to match my red toolbox etc. but what came was more of a salmon/pink color. Other than that, I really like that it's softer foam, still plenty ridged for holding tools but soft enough it doesn't feel nasty like some of the cheap really course/ridged foams out there. Overall, I would say I love the quality, but the color isn't what was advertised.

This was fantastic to work with, easy to cut and easy to lay out your tools. Cutting this stuff is truly an art form, you have to use a sharp exacto type knife and be sure of your cuts. This is not pluck and pull this is cut and shave so that will throw you for a loop if you aren't expecting that.

The short answer is, "no," but the actual answer is that I will definitely do it where it makes sense. The foam was really easy to work with--it's nice and stiff and cuts well with a sharp blade. I worked with it by drilling a hole and using that as a starting place for a long blade. Worked great. Cutting to size for drawers was easy too, so no need to have a laser cutter.

I an organizer! I like my tools in their place without rolling around. I've seen others who use Kaisen foam in their toolboxes. It's impressive but pretty expensive. This foam is an alternative. First, it's LARGE! 2'x4' to be exact. You can cut to fit any toolbox drawer. The variety of both 1" and 2" is very nice. Thinner for hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers, thicker for power tools and larger hand tools. The foam is made in layers (photo), so you can remove only the number of layers you want to meet your needs. The foam I received is a nice red, not as dark as the advertisement shows, but it's still an attractive red. Overall: some nice foam to help organize your toolbox.

A great price for 2 pieces of top quality foam. Tons of uses from toolbox drawers, gun cases, equipment cases, etc. Easily cuts with an exacto type razor or hot knife, but to really get professional results, you can't beat laser cutting. This foam cuts like butter when using a CO2 laser. More layout work on the computer end, but the results are well worth it. I definitely recommend seeking out a shop that has a laser.
