Great book, cheap binding material
Amazing book. Only complaint is the binding is very cheap. I had to buy a second copy since the first one fell apart, pages started falling out. And on my second copy the binding is falling apart on this one too. Very annoying, but the contents are amazing, really makes you crave more about maths

For math haters or lovers
This book is so well written. The stories are fascinating and the evolution of math is really incredible. Anyone would enjoy this book especially if you’ve always hated math or if you’ve always love math though I think everyone in between will really enjoy this book too. It’s not just a great story about numbers for various cultures in animals and more.

Alex's Adventures in Numberland review..
I purchased this book for my husband on December the 4th and it arrived (from Sweden) on December 30th. I was hoping it would be here for Christmas but i was aware it might not be. Despite that, my husband loves the book and is enjoying it! He has said it is a humorous book and I am sure it will be shared with a few people.

Exploring worlds you never knew existed
This is an absolutely delightful and entertaining book. Great if you like math but intriguing even if math doesn't come easy. Each chapter takes you on a journey exploring worlds you may never knew existed. It is written in an engaging style that keeps you interested even when the math gets a bit overwhelming. Would recommend to anyone with average or above average intelligence and curiosity.

Great book, but beware it is sold under two different titles
I bought this book for my 11 year-old son who loves math. He was very excited to see it because last year he read a book by the same author entitled "Here's Looking at Euclid" and loved it. Entertaining, thought-provoking, thoroughly engaging. Then he started to read and it became apparent that "Alex's Adventures in Numberland" and "Here's Looking at Euclid" are the same book sold under two different titles. Buy one or the other and you won't be disappointed, just don't buy both.

Another excellent book by Alex Bellos
Fantastic book on the people, problems & fascination we have with numbers. Strange as it may sound for a book on math but this is a fun & enjoyable read.

Absolutely a great read
Great read.I before buying this book, had not read a book for many years even then it was a Captain Underpants book so that many years ago, but I am trying to self teach myself as much as I can on Math and Physics, and this book was recommended as a book to read to show numbers and Mathematics in a fun way, and it is doing just that.I had learned a lot of fun facts about maths and other intriguing things, something that definitely shows Math in a different light a better light. For being the first book I as an adult have read I am more than happy I chose this book, and this has also helped me to enjoy reading (I have finished another book, smaller in page size by nearly 3/4), I will definitely be re-reading this again and most likely until I need to staple it together. The book talks with love of numbers and the price well, pennies per page really and I do mean that I think I paid less than £4 for 411 pages.Would truly recommend for anyone either wanting to know a few fun facts and learn a thing or two about the history of certain things or for anyone who is academically studying math or a math based study, like i mentioned earlier I got this book as I am trying to self teach as much as I can in Physics and for the math is fundamental.Great book by Alex Bellos

Numberland is a place anyone should visit and revel in all her glory !
The insights and intuition you get for the most basic tenets of mathematics from this book Is just exquisite. Also the rudimentary thought of quantifying ideas and enumerating large/small quantities , their relation between scales and the ethno-religious constraints , the edification of ideas through various times and filters in human history is quite captivatingly presented in this book and there influence on modern day contemporary society is looked into with lucidity.
