A blast, but has issues
I'm reviewing the quad after owning it for about a month and a half. I'll try to be thorough with likes, dislikes, and lessons learned and you can decide if it's right for you. This is my first whoop sized quad and second FPV quad, the other being a Furibee X215.One of the first things you should know is that even though this quad is a BNF, it is still going to take a lot of disassembly and assembly to keep it in the air. In theory you shouldn't need to hook it up to a computer to modify the Betaflight settings but it was one of the first things I did. I actually had to as part of trouble shooting a motor issue. Right out of the box everything worked perfectly except the front right motor. It wouldn't move at all as the throttle was advanced. I was hesitant to give it to much throttle for fear of burning out the motor or something else. Qwinout was very helpful in assisting with the troubleshooting and was willing to exchange motors. I finally went full throttle and the motor started to move a little. After blipping the throttle a couple times the issue went away. As far as Betaflight goes, I like that this flight controller has basically the same functionality as a larger quad. The biggest change I had to make was to the throttle settings. I really wanted it to feel like a 5" quad so I changed the throttle expo and nearly maxed it out. Before that I don't think it would hover until over 50% throttle which is almost useless.I flew the heck out of this thing when I got it to fly. I couldn't charge the batteries fast enough. That also meant a lot of crashing. It seems like everyone says to not stray from ACRO mode, but in my opinion this little guy can get away from you pretty quickly if you don't have the space to learn to fly it. I would recommend STAB while indoors and ACRO while you're outside. One of the things I truly like about this quad is that you can fly it outside. It's tiny so it won't bother the neighbors and I'm sure they are thinking that something this size shouldn't be taken seriously. After crashing it repeatedly, I can share several tips. I would recommend finding a way to take the slack out of the wires going to the motors. One picture shows my current setup that seems to work. Before this, I used wire to pull the wires out of the way and the stress on one of them pulled it out of the connector. It was impossible to repair it so I had to place an order for a replacement with banggood. I also replaced a prop guard that was broken during a hard crash while flying outside. For your sanity, add a couple twists to the rubber band that holds the battery on. As others have said, screws will fall out if you don't add threadlocker to them. The camera really liked to break loose after crashes, hence the wire to keep it in place. And lastly, I had to re-solder the power leads on three occasions. Two times because they broke loose, and the third was this evening when I replaced both wires and the plug. This was the most recent issue I had. Batteries were lasting a fraction of the time that they should, I would get to 3 volts within about 10 seconds. As you can see in one of the pictures, the stock plug couldn't handle the power and would heat up enough to discolor the insulation and melt the plastic. These may sound like significant issues but the fact that this little computer can fly itself so well still blows my mind. And for it to be light enough to do so, I can understand that it's not going to be built like a tank. The aluminum prop guards and carbon fiber frame are pretty awesome though. The guards can be bent back and the frame still looks brand new. I haven't broken any props either. As far as true ACRO flying goes, don't expect this thing to do a power loop. Any maneuver requiring a lot of power is going to end poorly. In the age of the Mobula and other awesome whoops that can fly on 2S, I like this little guy. It's fast, precise, and durable to an extent. Just be sure to buy a spare motor, prop guard, and battery connector as soon as you buy the quad. Hope this helps.

Nice parts.....build quality ok, software awful
"Betaflight support , multi flight mode: ACRO/AIR/ANGLE; Powerful Brushless motor and Smooth ESC ; CNC aluminum alloy propeller guard"This is not correct. The version of the flight controller loaded on the drone only supports stab and acro modes as per the OSD. The support for Beta Flight is horrible - one page photocopy provided with drone. I am unable to connect to Beta Flight on PC to update firmware and reprogram. Very unhappy with this purchase. Price was way too high when compared to other retailers on the web. Almost appears as if it was sent to market ahead of working flight software.....Angle mode is most necessary in racing - this drone does NOT support!!!! Do not buy.UPDATE - the seller contacted me to offer support for the product. Four stars for the effort, but the advice was out of date as google chrome no longer supports apps as of December 2017. Happymodel should have a website to support their product. This product is running cleanflight - you will have to flash firmware to use BetaFlight (and angle mode). The one star rating remains for the product, not for the seller or amazon experience.I want to add that the drone hovers well for 30 seconds or so, then experiences intermittant power dips causing the drone to lose altitude. I found that flying was causing the battery leads to overheat (and on a couple of occasions were hot enough to de-solder from the PC board). The dips in power are caused by resistance of the battery lead wire as it heats up.....This is a design flaw - happy model used a gauge of wire that is too thin for the current. Apparently HappyModel has never heard of Ohm's law. The fix is easy - you need to replace using thicker wire (my replacement is 26 awg). The replacement came by cutting the end off of a battery charger that I no longer use. Downside of this fix - requires magnification to make solder repair as the contact pads on the PCB are tiny!! With the new battery lead in place flight is significantly improved.

Absolutely great little drone
Absolutely great little drone! Flys fantastick and love the speed. Super big time saver with betaflight Pre installed didn't have to bother updating drivers or any thing with my computer, it did it automatically. Field of view on the camera and osd is great. Only thing I wish is to be able to fined replacement parts easier like motors and the blad ducts. Its heavy enough and has the power for outdoors just fine even on a bit of a breezy day and small enough with great response for indoor racing and fun. It also has a surprising flight time, I've been able to get it to go about 6 to 8 minutes on a single battery.

Please read this before you buy.
It's a great quad and it's very enjoyable to use. The quality assurance needs to improve so make sure you tighten down those screws before you fly it. It comes with some extra screws but no extra nuts so don't lose em. Overall I would buy them again but on another site. It's only 100 on gear best and bangood. If you are willing to wait 10-20 days it'll save you 20 bucks.
