All parts are made from metal, the pen comes in a nice tin box.
I like bolt style pens as they never deploy refills in your packet by itself and can be used for self defense or as an emergency tool as your thumb can rest against the top of the pen for a very strong poke. This pen came in a nice tin box. All of its parts are made from metal. It feels nice in my hands. It's not too heavy and has a good grip. It’s easy to write as the bolt mechanism on top is not heavy as well and doesn't shift the center of gravity way up. Pen uses Parker style refills.

Nice unique bolt action pen.
This looks like a typical retractable pen, but the button on the end of the pen doesn’t actually do anything, it has a bolt action to engage the ink cartridge. It’s a nice looking pen and decently heavy but not too heavy. The gel ink dries fast and doesn’t bleed, it writes very smoothly. it looks different than other pens which if you lose it at work, which is what I do all the time, you can identify it. It is a little bit pricey at $20 but it does come in a very nice gift box as well as the pen is 100% metal so that does add value. I will revisit my review in a few months and based on durability I will adjust my score accordingly

An average pen for a good price...
Pros: The weight and balance on this pen are nice. It holds well in the hand and writes good. I also like the look. The barrel is matte silver with everything else being chrome. The bolt spring is tight and feels good to manipulate. There is no rattle in the bolt either when opened or closed. The circular cutouts on the front of the barrel add some texture for grip. The overall package looks nice and writes well.Cons: The pocket clip is pretty flimsy. I can move it around with just a finger. I often clip my pen to things and I'm sure the first time the pen, or clip, get snagged on something the clip is going to bend or rip off. Also, the cutout for the bolt action has very sharp edges. Not enough to cut you, but when manipulating the bolt I noticed that the point of the "hook" where the bolt engages open will actually get lodged in the pad of my finger. Again, not enough to bring blood, but it will rip up some skin. That is a pretty big design flaw for a fidget device that by definition gets fidgeted with.

Solid, Balanced Pen
I normally favor fountain pens, though sometimes a fountain pen is not the right tool for the job. I like bolt action pens as a backup option, and I selected this one with the thought of making this part of my daily carry. I am happy with it so far, though I have not had it long. This is a silver-colored stainless-steel pen with a ballpoint cartridge. It looks a lot like some pens I have seen from engineering companies with the holes in the barrel. The bolt is on the side, placed comfortably away from the clip and from the fleshy part of my hand when I am writing with it (assuming I write with the clip opposite my hand). It is neither heavy nor light, with a good balanced feel to it in my hand. When I first took the pen out of the box and started messing with it, the bolt action mechanism was very stiff and did not feel smooth at all, almost like it was grinding metal-on-metal. Fidgeting with it made it loosen up a little and it is much smoother now, though it is still a little tight. The pen comes in a metal box and includes a single ink refill, installed in the pen. It has a generous amount of ink in it and it should last a while. Once I use it up, I will buy replacement cartridges. This is a nice pen. I like the bolt action mechanism, and I like the hand feel when I am writing with it. It's priced reasonably well, making it a decent choice if you are looking for a solid bolt-action pen.

Wanted to like this
I am somewhat of a pen addict, and am always on the search for another nice pen. To be honest, i was quite disappointed in this pen. The overall build quality is not up to my standards for a pen in this price range. The balance in the hand is uneven. The bolt action grinds against the pen when opening and closing. It is not smooth at all. I have another pen in this price range and the bolt action is as smooth as butter. And the worst part is the extremely large diameter hole where the pen tip protrudes. When writing, the excess space of the hole allows the pen tip to wobble slightly and it creates a vibration up the pen into the hand. Unfortun ately, I gave it a try, but in the end, I will take a $2 Pilot over this anyday.

Attention to Detail is Lacking
The ArtBear Bolt Action pen is superficially attractive and has potential to be a better writing instrument if further refined in later iterations by the manufacturer. At this time, however, the pen as it is currently shipping is delivering an uneven experience. Notably, the barrel is steel, however the pen's tip, pocket clip, and finial all appear to be a lesser material. The bolt action itself is not well executed - instead of a smooth action, the unpleasant scraping of parts against each other is delivered to your fingers during the action. As a final disappointment, the pen's ballpoint scratches against the page frequently, resulting in periodic skipping and uneven ink flow. This is not a terribly expensive pen, so it should not be held to a particularly high standard. I would suggest, however, that spending the same amount on a pack of disposable pens would be money better spent, and certainly would deliver a more satisfactory writing experience. Failing that, I would think that the first step to improving this pen for any buyers would be to make a small additional investment in a quality refill and swap it in immediately.Lastly, the notion that this pen is positioned as a pen for artists is, I'm sorry to say, absurd. If that is your intended use case, I would encourage you to look at nearly any other offering from any other manufacturer. It is simply too unreliable for that use case.
