An enjoyable read.
Sohie's premise for this book was about Verity and Rory who were childhood neighbors. Rory and Verity's brother were best friend until Jame's fiancee died. Rory hold himself responsible. And so does James. But, when Verity finds out how Catherine died, she tells Rory that he was not responsible. They demolish the wall that Catherine tried to jump. She was reckless and didn't make it over the wall, she broke her neck. Verity was caught in bed with Rory at the beginning of the story and her brother insists she marry Rory and then he will kill him. The book goes on and tells us everything we wanted to know about the Diaries, how they were stolen and then published. Rory steals back one, but there were more hidden with the publisher. Even the Prince Regent gets into the act. His punishment for Verity, is to say she must marry Rory and produce more Dukes of Abshire. In the end, it is a HAE for all concerned. Sophie is a great writer and I'm looking forward to more from her.

Fun Read
Lady Verity Fitzroy has been in love with her brother's friend Rory Lennox, Duke of Abshire, all her life. After a night of debauchery, Rory finds himself in Verity's bed and does the honorable thing in proposing marriage - even if he and Verity's brother are no longer friendly. Verity does the unthinkable and refuses, but Rory can't take no for an answer.I've enjoyed this series, but I thought this book was a little bit too much all over the map. There seemed to be a lot of filler with Verity teaching school and traveling all around while Rory mostly chases her. It's still a fun read, but just not as good a story for me.

Not great
I really enjoyed Sophia Nash's Widows Club series so I'm disappointed I can't say the same about this new series. The first two books were fine but I didn't connect with this one at all. There was so much mystery over Verity's secrets it completely overshadowed any romance in the story, I couldn't understand why they even liked each other. There are so many references to the other Duke's stories and mishaps it almost felt as if this was a filler book in the series. I was more interested in the rest of the Royal Entourage and what Amelia's story would be. It did pick up in the end but it took so long to get there, I didn't even care about the happy ending.I do like the way Sophia Nash writes, though, so I'm going to read the next one, I just hope it's better!

Far from romantic
I haven't read any of the author's previous books and thought I'd take a chance on this one even though I was less than optimistic. Sadly more than 50% of the way through the book I had yet to find much evidence of romance. The h had loved the H for years but he was completely unaware of her and only trying to 'court' her to avoid a scandal. I've never been a fan of books where the h loves the H and he isn't aware of the fact and more pertinently could care even less. Where is the romance in this kind of plot? Worse still is the fact that the H had been madly in love with the h's brother's late fiancee years ago and kept on dreaming of her. What chance did a plain, homely and forgettable h stand? We constantly hear of how beautiful the H's first love had been and it didn't sit well with me especially since the h is plain. There were parts of the book that I really didn't like and again detracted from the romance. I'm not going to bother with a spoiler because if you're a fan you'll continue with the series anyway. I'm not sure I'll read another book by this author.

Can S
I like this writer, she writes so that you see the people. You know what the ending is going to be but she make the trip interesting. Have read several of her books and have always like the trip that she takes on.

Awful...slogging through it...need coffee to keep me awake
I just can't get through this boring mess. I'm one-third of the way through and my mind wanders as I'm reading. Doing my laundry is more appealing. I don't understand the other great reviews because there is nothing of interest transpiring. I'm not even sympathetic towards the characters. I'd give the book zero stars. Don't waste your money. I've bought 5 of Nash's books because I liked her witty dialogue between the characters, but this series seems as if Nash has lost her spark. I won't buy anymore of her books. I'm just angry I paid $4.99 for this yawning bore.

It started off really well but after half way through it was hard going and I really struggled to finish it

My favourite thus far
I really liked Rory and Verity. I liked getting hints about other stories still to come in the series. The best so far.
