I was amazed at this violin's quality of materials, workmanship and setup. The Aileen 1/4 violin is a good step or two above other children's violins in the price range of under $200. The bridge had been properly set up and fitted, which is not usually the case with beginner instruments.There were two minor negatives: First the bow, which appears to be made of natural wood, lacks spring so much so that to properly tension on the hair one must tighten it, literally, to the point of reversing the curvature of the stick. Not sure if I can straighten this one, but perhaps I'll give it a try. For sure, I'm not returning the entire outfit because of the cheap little bow. The second issue, which should correct itself in time, is the slipperiness of the D and G tuning pegs.Even so, I enthusiastically recommend this little violin for little students. Thank-you Aileen!

As my review mentioned - the bridge to our violin was loose. We were not sure what to do with it, so we tried our best to tighten down and tune the violin (hold the bridge in place, while we tightened the strings down). We were able to tune the violin, but if we jostle it, it will quickly loose tune.We aren't really sure how to fix this, should we just super glue, wood glue? Not sure what to do.I was totally excited to get this kit - everything else to phenomenal - a beginners violin kit with everything you need, a stand, a tuner, a violin. Man... but the bridge .... I was so disappointed....The instrument is really nice - but if the bridge is loose, it's like getting a car without a gas pedal....****Update****12 September 20204Seller reached out to me - Provided me with direction - in the instructions - it does provide guidance on the bridge becoming knocked out of place - and how to put it back into place - so my big issue with the violin was actually addressed in the instructions - that's on me.Since my daughter played violin for a few years we actually did know what we were doing when we set this instrument up - that's we didn't look at the instructions, but that's also my arrogance and pride showing it's ugly head by not looking at the instructions.It's ok if the bridge comes loose, it's not glued down on purpose.

This is a solid beginner violin set, perfect for anyone trying to see if they enjoy playing before committing to something more expensive. The sound quality is decent for the price, and the variety of sizes makes it great for kids and adults. Perfect for a novice, but there might be better out there for this price.

This is a really great kit for a kid's first violin! We got the 1/4 size version as this is our daughter's first violin. I dabbled in violin in my youth and this really does come with everything I remember I needed. Happy that it has the shoulder rest, too! Even rosin for the bow. I can't complain about the price that includes all these things, and it really is enough to start working on technique. We already know it's not a Stradivarius! At the time of this review, the kit is in the low $100s, and worth the price.

I was happy to see this violin on Vine in 1/2 size because I always wanted to check if I can play faster on a smaller size! And I actually would take all the violins I can put my hands on lol This set is a great option for beginners and intermediate players, whether adults or children. This full set comes with everything you need to start playing: a sturdy hard case, music stand, shoulder rest, rosin, bow, tuner, extra strings, mute, wall mount, fingerboard sticker, and cleaning cloth. The violin itself is well-crafted and produces a decent sound for its price range. The added accessories, especially the tuner and wall mount, make it highly convenient for practice and storage. Super recommend!!

I'm not sure what's going on, but while aspects of this violin appear to be new, some parts also appeared to be used. The bow had several broken strings already. The rosin was new though. The box it came in had tape that had been cut and new tape was over it.Components are missing, too. I didn't have a fingerboard sticker or extra strings in my case. I've looked through everything three times and they're not there.The violin doesn't feel sturdy or designed to last. Parts were already falling off and had to be tightened. The tuner is poor quality. The case, however, is durable and seems to be high quality.As for the price, I'm disappointed. I didn't expect a Stradivarius, but I expected better than what arrived.

I was really impressed with this set because it comes with everything you need, and the instructions are helpful, easy to follow, and perfect for a novice. I really like the little sticker that you can put on it as well to show the different chords. I haven't played an instrument in decades but I've always loved the violin so this is everything I need to get started!
