Marvel's Spider-Man: The Art of the Game

As previously mentioned in my dozen reviews of art-books, I purchase the book for all triple AAA titles I enjoy and become immersed in. And I also feel slightly annoyed that this brilliant game isn't held in the same regard as TLOU2, Horizon Zero Dawn, God Of War, Ghost Of Tsushima, Death Stranding. Anyway, despite the handicap of being produced by Titan Books (for some reason I prefer Dark Horse) this is a near flawless product. Perhaps because I kind of see this as a tie-in and not an original concept (even though it is) you underestimate the level of detail and forethought that went into creating this world. There are seriously beautiful images/illustrations spread across 192 glossy pages and the meticulous designs for each villains and Spider-Mans dozen plus costumes are impeccable. There got so much right with this game it warranted a sequel, highly recommended.

Brilliant! Behind the scenes look into Spider-Man. Great for budding artists and Spider-Man fans alike. Superb artistry and in-depth exploration of the scenery, graphic design, costumes etc.

Big fan of the game and I love this book and all the art work I wished they had more art in this book.

Super Amazing Guide Book, worth every dime i spent on it. Its a nice add on to the game, i am actually very happy with the book.

Una maravilla, un libro lleno de informacion e imagenes espectaculares del juego de Spiderman para PS4. Perfecta encuadernacion, gran tamaño y buena calidad del papel. Si te gustó el juego, imprescindible, revela la logica seguida para los diseños. Por mencionar algo, las zonas blancas del nuevo traje de Spiderman se justifican con el hecho de que es fibra de carbono que va en las zonas mas vulnerables o necesitadas de refuerzo (pecho, espalda, manos, pies). Tambien añadir que parece que Amazon le empieza a pillar el truco a enviar libros, llegó perfecto, sin golpes. El libro es grandote, 27x30, pero eso permite algunas ilustraciones a doble pagina espectaculares. Ah, y está en inglés, por si alguien no se ha dado cuenta, algo que puede echar para atras porque a pesar de las ilustraciones tambien hay mucho que leer.

Soy fan del juego y conseguir este libro fue un deleite. El arte es increíble y si bien me hubiera gustado ver más de los DLC y de Miles, aún así está muy completo e informativo.

元々スパイダーマンは大好きでしたが、ゲーム版をプレイして、そのあまりの出来の良さに感動してしまい、ゲームをクリアしてもいないのに、本書を購入してしまいました。 スパイダーマンを始めとする各キャラクターたち、舞台となるN.Y.のロケーション、ウェブシューターなどのガジェット類、その他（武器、車、看板や落書きアートまで！）ありとあらゆるもののコンセプトアートが数多く掲載されています。 ゲーム内ではスパイダーマンのコスチュームが多数登場しますが、残念ながらその全部は掲載されておらず、こちらはちょっと残念。その一方で、ヴィランの一人、ショッカーのコスチュームは17種類もの初期デザインが掲載されていて、これがどれもカッコよくてシビれました（ショッカーだけにね！）。また映画にも登場したドク・オクやバルチャーも、映画版とはまた違ったデザインで、とても洗練されていてカッコ良かったです（まるでメタルギア・ソリッドみたい）。 メイおばさんの初期デザインは決定稿とは随分と違ってたり、キングピンも当初のデザインはもっといかつい男だったりと、ゲームをプレイしてから本書を見ると、興味深い発見があって楽しめます。 是非、本書の邦訳版を出して欲しい！と願っていますが（というか、絶対どこかの出版社が出してくれそうな気がする！）、私のように邦訳版まで待てない！という方には、是非お薦めします。 美しいコンセプトアートの数々を眺めながら、ゲームの世界観に酔いしれて下さい♪

I couldn't resist buying this book on sale, and I'm glad that I did. The artwork is great, the layout is thoughtful, and it offers a lot of unique insights into the game's stylistic choices. I totally recommend it, albeit with one caveat. Other reviewers have mentioned that pages can be glued together, usually around the edges. They've speculated that the excess glue came from the binding process, and probably splashed and sloshed where it shouldn't be. I assumed they were right, but decided to take my chances. Sure enough... glue damage. Two sets of pages were glued together on the edges. One set of pages came apart with no visible damage, and the other set of pages came apart with some damage to the bottom of a page. Two centimeters wide by 3 millimeters tall of Peter Parker's ratty apartment is now no more. But... it's Peter's god-awful apartment, so I'm kind of indifferent. If anything, I think it adds to the theme of bachelorhood vileness. So, I have no real complaints. Still, I wanted to warn you out of courtesy. You might get unlucky with your excess glue allotment. If you buy this, check every page before the return period lapses. Otherwise, you might have a very unhappy surprise years later when you crack it open.
