I bought these as an Easter gift for my two sons, ages 6 and 8. They love to create animal "habitats" for their toys and figurines, so I thought they would enjoy this project. They definitely did! They wanted to make the terrariums right away after receiving them. Everything is clearly labeled and the instructions are printed large with photos so the kids could complete the project mostly independently. The packaging was thoughtful and included small ziplock bags for left over items. Since the terrarium itself is pretty durable, I could see us using it over again with the leftover supplies and some other things from around the house. There are plenty of decorations for the outside of the terrarium, the soil was easy to mix up without a mess, and they enjoyed arranging the rocks, colorful sand, and little axolotls. They're excited to see the chia seeds sprout in a few days! This is a high quality, low cost item that's great for gifting, or just for fun on a rainy day!

Really good activity to do with my boys. They loved it and it can be pretty messy so I advise you to be outside or in an area that you don’t mind sweeping up dirt and seeds and sand and stickers. My boys are three years old and five years old and they had a really fun time decorating it.

Our kid got two of them and had a blast with both! But a heads up ... We think the soil may have been contaminated with gnat eggs, because Jesus Christ they are everywhere now.

Great activity for my son to use his imagination to create and easy to follow instructions.

Nice easy project for my kids that will last a while. They are 7 and 9 and it was easy for them to do themselves and they seem to love it. I will say to put the axolotls next to the edges as the stuff isn't super transparent so hard to see them unless you have them at the surface of the container.
