Solved my facial bump problem
I have thick, curly facial hair that curves and grows back into my face, instead of out, causing painful bumps. This razor has worked to give me a smooth shave for almost 4 years now. Double and triple blade razors cut the hair below the skin, guaranteeing a face full of bumps. This razor cuts above the skin, and solves my problem. There was a learning curve, but we'll worth it. Read the instructions carefully, and if you have tough beard, tender skin like me, you should get great results also!

UPDATE 12-2-20 RAZOR HEAD BROKEN - My first and last razor - easy to use
UPDATE 12-2-20: Everything was going great until the razor head just snapped off. The plastic piece holding the straight razor in place broke and was not repairable. It broke with no force and during normal operation. The head is supposed to be a unibody construction, this was certainly not. Maybe these aren't genuine? Great razor, buy from reliable source. I've kept a full, thick, burly beard for 12 years now, and used trimmers to line it up. I needed to shave for work, and thus had to buy my first razor. I hate the idea of being locked into a cartridge razor, paying insane prices for mediocre shaves. I knew I wanted a straight razor style shaver, and OneBlade was wirecutter recommended. My biggest concern was accidently cutting myself and apprehensively started my first shave. Any concerns were immediately alleviated. I don't think I could cut myself if I tried! The key is OneBlade's ingenious pivoting head. Build: The OneBlade Core has a stainless steel handle wrapped in hard plastic, a very appropriate weight, length, and grip. It felt solid and well crafted. The pivoting head is all hard plastic. Head: The hybrid between a rigid straight razor and pivoting cartridge head is perfect. Guards on the pivoting head hold the razor at a perfect angle, preventing you from pressing into your face, or cutting yourself parallel to the blade. I started shaving hesitantly, and by the end, was zipping around. I easily shaved my jaw. chin, and mustache. Overall impression: This razor delivers the closest shave I have ever seen, and without leaving any irritation. The included extra stiff feather blades are what allowed the shave to be so close to my skin. I was pushing relatively hard and did not cut myself. As darker skinned, I was worried about razor bumps and burns. In the end, I was only left with an amazingly smooth shave and ZERO irritation. What more could I ask for? A perfect razor for regular use. I intend to stick with it.

One Blade CORE Razor
This is a finesse razor. If you are a 2 or 3 pass shaver than you might not like this razor. If you like to get a perfect shave and go over the trouble areas several times to get a nice shave then you will like the One Blade razor. I had a perfect shave with the razor the first time but I did go over my trouble areas, jaw line and neck, several times. But surprisingly there were no cuts or razor rash which I typically get when attempting to go over these areas with my DE razor. The second shave I had using the same razor blade was as good. But the third shave was not as good as the first two shaves. The blades appears to dull very quickly. Normally I can use a double edge razor blade for 7 shaves. And I could use a cartridge razor for several weeks, even a month. One thing I noticed is that the single edge blade is easier to clean by rinsing in running water. My DE razors do not clean that easy. I can only notice this using a magnifier while looking at the razor blade. There is something about the single edge that helps it stay cleaner. I have now used the One Blade for over 5 weeks of use. The razor causes the least irritation of any razor I have used. I also find it almost impossible to cut yourself. This is coming from a DE shaver so a cartridge shaver might have to be a little careful but I know of no other razor that is this forgiving. I do not get any cuts or razor rash no matter how many times I go over an area and no matter how fast or slow I shave. This is not the case with any of my DE razors, they are far less forgiving. The razor I purchased is the CORE, which has a plastic head. Looking closely at the head, it has several small notches that hold the razor blade. It looks like the razor head will be the weak point of the CORE razor. At some point those plastic tabs will wear out, since the blade touches them. The blade does sit loosely in the razor handle but I have not noticed any issue caused by the loose fit. The handle is a plastic covered metal. The metal is not magnetic and appears to be rust proof. The only issue I have with the handle is that it is very slippery. They could have put a couple grooves in the handle, smooth plastic does not work well with wet hands. I have to use the razor with a dry hand. My only concern with this razor is the expense of a shave. This is the most expensive way to shave of any razor I have used. The razors are just under a dollar and you get about 2 shaves. So for the month that is just under $15. That is more expensive than any cartridge razor I have used. Even an expensive cartridge razor that costs $7 would last over one month for me. That is less than half the cost of the One Blade. So the One Blade is very expensive to use when you compare the cost of a shave. I tried to use the Razor Pit to clean the razor blade and it appears to help. I have been able to shave for a week using a single blade. That brings the cost down a bit and makes it more practical. If you buy this razor and the Razor Pit to clean the razor blade then it makes this a good buy. With this setup I give the razor a 4 star rating. It really is a great smooth and very close shave.

Close, comfortable and enjoyable shaving!
I have been using the OneBlade Core Safety Razor for about three weeks now and am loving it. I purchased based on reviews for this and other similar razors. As this is my first foray into shaving with a single blade safety razor, I liked the idea of a pivoting head to provide more forgiveness in the shaving angle. The razor came beautifully packaged along with a stand and a box of 10 Feather single edge blades. The instructions are minimal in the box, but loading the razor was pretty simple. I did refer to a couple of the videos for recommendations on transitioning to a single blade safety razor and shaving technique. The OneBlade feels very well constructed and feels good in my hand. I am used to shaving in the shower, with store bought gel, however, I followed the recommendations of using a brush and foam for the first week, just to get the hang of using the razor. I had a couple of minor nicks on the chin the first two shaves, but none since then and have reverted back to shaving in the shower. I am able to get a smooth, close shave and got about seven shaves out of the first blade before I felt it starting to tug. I have a light beard, so not sure how many shaves to expect for a heavier beard. However, at a cost of much less than $1 per blade, I am happy with the durability of the blades. I found the transition to the single edge safety razor easier than some described, and am very happy to have made the OneBlade choice.

Stick with mach3 or other brands
I bought it because I heard people get good shaves out of it and decided to buy it I like the design and style of the razor but when I used it it felt very aggressive on my skin and got razor burn when I use aftershave and I shave slowly with this razor and the blades are sharp but it did not cut my beard all the way to the baby skin feel that I am use too getting. I don’t recommend this product if you are deciding to switch from cartage razors like gillette or any other brand of cartage then don’t buy it the blades for this razor is very expensive and can only use there blades and they are not that sharp if you have coarse hair and sensitive skin don’t get this one it’s good if you are shaving your legs for woman it’s good but the face no I recommend either stick with your Gillette Mach 3 because I thing they are good to use or good with safety razors like the Rockwell, merkur, mulela, Parker and etc but do not buy this razor it is cool looking and there are other options for this razor but it is too expensive to me and this is the plastic version the metal version is around 200 dollars which is expensive you can get safety razor all metal for less the cost and use different razors for it for 200 dollars just get a adjustable safety razor from Amazon like the Rockwell or the merkur or the vintage ones from razor emporium like the Gillette fat boy or other options they have it is your choice if you want this razor but I think you should not get this one for first timers look up on YouTube for videos on safety razors if your interested but I recommend the Rockwell because it is the smoothest razor I ever use or the other ones that they recommended for beginners. I give this 3 stars because it looks good but shaves really aggressive if it did not like good by design it would be a 2 or a 1 to me by performance.

Another wet shave letdown.
I got into the whole wet shave revolution many years ago, but I was never happy with the results. I have a thick heavy beard and straight razors just don't cut close enough for me. My Shavette always got the job done. Anyway, I thought I'd give this product a try as it looked like a nice design. And it is a nice design. I like the feel of the razor and the stand is very simple with a cool look. However the performance isn't there for me. I did two WTG passes and three ATG passes and I still had pretty heavy stubble especially around the curved areas of my face and crook of my lips. This razor just can't get in there like a Shavette. I had to go back and clean up the shave with my disposable... as always. I know most wet shaving enthusiasts say you shouldn't push on the blade but I need a bit of pressure to cut close on my face. I will say that this razor is pretty good for ATG shaving for a straight razor, but it's not that great. I think having multiple blades in a fixed position just beats out a single straight razor if you have a thick heavy beard. Wet shaving may work for weak beards but not for me. I also took a star for having proprietary blades. I'd be more keen to keep this razor if it was designed to work with other razors but the ones provided aren't working, so I'll be returning it.

DITCH cartridge razors. NOW. This is the easiest way to do that.
I thought I was doomed to adult acne / crappy complexion my whole life. Turns out it was decades of multi-blade cartridge razor use. Over the years I've also thrown over a thousand super expensive, face destroying, mostly plastic razor cartridges in the trash. NEVER AGAIN. A quick You Tube search will show you the many, many, many advantages of single blade shaving - from much lower expense to better shave, better skin, better for the environment, basically EVERYTHING - except speed. The two practical ways to shave with a single blade are the traditional DE safety razor, and the OneBlade system. PROS of OneBlade: You can pick up this razor and after watching one five minute instructional video on YouTube (how to shave with OneBlade) you can shave almost the same as you did with your cartridge, make a couple passes as indicated, and get a wonderful shave with all the benefits of single blade shaving in almost as short a time span as cartridge razor shaving. CONS of OneBlade: The blades are more expensive than DE safety razor blades (although FAR cheaper than cartridges). The blades don't last me as many shaves (1-2) as DE safety razor blades (3-5). The shave, imho, is not QUITE as close and smooth as a three pass DE safety razor shave, but PRO is FAR FASTER and less prone to nicks and cuts. So, if you want to go ALL THE WAY, and are willing to spend weeks picking up the technique to avoid cutting yourself, and 10 minutes + a day shaving, the DE safety razor gives the absolute best shave possible imho. Short of that, BUY THIS RAZOR! It gets you 95% of the way to single blade bliss, with 95% of the speed and convenience of the horrible cartridges that you will NEVER USE AGAIN!!! Not sure? BUY THIS RAZOR! It will convince you of the massive superiority of single blade shaving without the downside of a huge learning curve, and after you're hooked on single blade shaving you can decide whether or not to jump down the DE safety razor rabbit hole. Your skin, and whomever touches it, will thank you!!!

No razor burn, always the best shave
So I was hesitant and very skeptical that this would be better than the old Gillette cartridge razor I have been using since day one. I could not have been more wrong. I love this razor, my face loves this razor. I have had razor burn since I started shaving, just assumed I would always have it. I thought I just had sensitive skin on my face (I have tried every lotion/cream, etc)... turns out that its not my skin, its the razor... and this one is good, really good. It took me probably 10 shaves to get it down, definitely cut myself a few times... I almost gave up! But I pushed through because of a friends recommendation and I am so thankful I did. Another issue I had was timing. I was concerned this would take me 2 or 3 times longer for each shave. Well it did the first few shaves, but you get better at it and the time begins to "shave" off (pun intended). I think I am probably 2-3 minutes longer now then it used to take me with the "skin destroying" Gillette razor, but the shave is much more enjoyable, its a closer shave and no razor burn is worth every second! Give it an honest try and you will not be disappointed. **I have owned a OneBlade razor for almost a year, I bought this specific razor through Amazon for my father-in-law. Hopefully he loves it as much as I do.
