Quality product but difficult to install.
I found this camera to be seriously disappointing on a number of levels. It is clearly a top quality product but probably not for amateur fitment.Firstly, although not mentioned in the advert for the product so far as I could see, the first chapter of the “quick” start guide states that the operating system has to be Microsoft Windows XP SP1/7/8/10. This was an immediate problem for me: I only have Apple computing devices. The “quick” start guide is sufficiently dense to be challenging to a computer science graduate. I am fairly computer literate, perhaps above average. I have successfully installed two domestic CCTV systems from different manufacturers which caused me no difficulty. The setup instructions from this guide seem to be full of jargon. Apparently you can set this up with NVR with POE or NVR without POE. There is no explanation about what these terms mean. Having looked it upon on the internet I am pretty sure that I do not have NVR with or without POE.The guide refers you to a software download site. Going there you are immediately confronted with about 27 different software packages with computer jargon, none of which seemed relevant to me. I tried downloading one of the packages but my computer couldn’t open it. Even if I had had a Microsoft computer I would have had difficulty in deciding which package to select from the list. The camera has the facility to be operated via a 12 volt adapter which is potentially useful. Unfortunately, no adapter is supplied. To give a balanced assessment I have to say that it looks to be a very good quality product. The fit and finish is excellent. It can be used indoors or outdoors and has an IP67 rating. The impression you get from the marketing material, the website and the product itself is one of quality and the manufacturer has a good heritage. Reading the description some of the features seem pretty impressive: 98ft night vision distance in colour; 98degree viewing angle; dual colour IR night vision; 512GB memory card slot and also intelligent motion detection features.Unfortunately the system does not seem to be compatible with my Apple computer and I feel that the installation of this system would probably best left to professionals. I have given the product three stars for these reasons alone, because I suspect that if fitted properly it would deserve 5 stars.

Well featured POE camera.
The VIKYLIN 8MP 4K PoE Outdoor Camera arrived professionally packaged in a full colour printed cardboard box.Being a PoE camera you will need to have a suitable recorder (with PoE power facility) and associated cabling in place. The camera is designed for permanent outdoor use and comes with an IP67 rating. The unit can intelligently identify people and cars with a stated accuracy rate of up to 98% and when triggered can sound an alarm and send a notification via email.Good value for a full featured PoE camera.

Good Day and Night Performance
I found this camera to offer solid performance with several features that stand out. It delivers good image quality in both daylight and nighttime conditions, thanks to its effective spotlight and responsive infrared (IR) capabilities, which enhance nighttime visibility.Day and Night Performance: The camera works impressively well in both day and night. The spotlight is particularly helpful at night, illuminating areas and improving the IR's performance to capture clear images even in low-light environments.Ease of Setup: Setting up the camera was relatively straightforward, with user-friendly instructions to guide the process. It didn't take long to get it up and running.Price and Connectivity: On the downside, it does lean towards the pricier side, especially for those seeking a more budget-friendly option. Additionally, while the camera works well, I personally prefer wireless connectivity over an ethernet connection for greater convenience. Conclusion: Overall, this camera delivers good image quality and reliable performance, particularly in nighttime settings. Although it’s a bit pricey and requires an ethernet connection, its features make it a solid choice for those seeking quality surveillance.

Camera
Fairly well-made.Instructions are awful.Set up and installation are difficult.App is poorly designed. There is no UK contact address, service email or warranty details. These are all red flags.

Decent camera
I found this to be a decent camera with lots to like about it. It produces good image quality working well in both the day and night. The spotlight works well at night helping the IR which is really responsive. The set up is relatively easy to do. It does lean on the pricey side and i prefer to have wireless connection rather than ethernet.Hope you found my review helpful.

Quality commercial grade IP camera - not really for end users
Frigate. ONIVF. Bluecherry. If these phrases mean anything to you, this is probably more up your alley than mine!To be clear - this really isn't meant for an amateur home user - it's proper 'industrial strength' stuff. This is really meant for full security systems where you will have at least one PC dedicated to monitoring. My first hurdle was how to power it! Thankfully I managed to borrow a friend's PoE injector to fire this up. The second issue was getting it on the right network! If you follow the (poor - at least for the uninitiated) instructions it will recommend you downloading SADP for detecting the camera on your network. The thing is the camera defaults to 192.168.1.64 - my network is 192.168.0.x! I ended up dragging out another network switch and plugging into that and configuring a laptop on the same range...etc...I did eventually get an image out of this. It seems like a really good product - but one that I have to admit I am woefully ill-informed to review properly. I am giving this 4 stars as I can see there is a decent and well manufactured product here for someone who actually knows how to use this properly!I presumed this would effectively be a wired version of the simple wireless security cameras that are available these days. I was very much wrong!
