Fox RunWire Pastry Blender, 5", Steel and Wood

This arrived in good time with all wires securely in place.I checked after reading some reviewers who had lose wire problems.Not used yet,so will alter this & add if anything occurs worth noting .Have chosen a wooden handled one, as so gentle on the hands in use.Washed up, only, as wood can go black & rot if wet for long periods.Should lasts ages if water kept to a minimum to clean, straight after use, drain,not left in soak,nor in a dish washer .Hopefully as good as the last one I had & gave away .Now needed as hands nor fingers,are so flexible & painful ,using as before.Previously ,one like this made wonderful pastry & crumbles.

I come from a country where we use pastry blenders all the time - I hadn't even heard of "rubbing in" when I arrived in the UK (many years ago).In many pastry blenders available here the blades are too thick and the pastry / dough gets stuck between them. This is most annoying as the tool is supposed to make things easier / quicker. This one has thin "wire" blades - hence no sticking - perfect.

The cutting blades are wire which clump together in use. It does work but I find it much easier just to use my fingers

The wires spread apart from each other quite easily. In order to cut the lard into the pastry, I had to constantly stop and put the wires back into place. I eventually gave up and used my food processor instead.

Better than any others. Just as the very originals used to be years ago. Took a little while to deliver but worth the wait.

This little device is great for making scones, the rubbing in is so much more efficient

Great bit of kit, I use it for scones, pastry, biscuits and all without getting my hands covered in flour and fat, I really like this blender.
