Wanted to learn a musical skill during lockdown. The Horner was recommended as an economical, versatile and comparatively EASY way to start. Arrived quickly and is surprisingly well made and very compact in it's plastic case. It easily fits into a jacket pocket. With many ebooks available for beginners it was easy to get started, and to progress to simple tunes. The ebook enabled you to read the score on an iPad and listen to how the tune should sound. Which is where I am at present.

Really pleased with the sound of this harmonica since starting with the Big River Harp. Seems just bit smaller than the Big River but that doesn't bother me at all. The wooden comb makes a nice change as well. The only nitpick I have is that the inside of the case was missing one of the protective bits of plastic and the glue was exposed. Not bad enough to return it but a bit disappointing. Will improvise by sticking some foam or felt in the case I think.

Great, accurate sound which is easy to produce. Excellent quality! I have two Hohner mouth organs now and both are of equal sound, and quality. It is like night and day compared to the cheaper mouth organs.

Hey guys, so my C harmonica arrived today. And the sound from it is terrific. My first time ever picking up and playing a harmonica. And the box, the instrument itself both look great. Very smooth and professional finish. So a quick youtube search and i gathered that a C harmonica is a good place to start. And the Hohner brand speaks for itself. So what did i do as soon as i opened my new harmonica? Well i went straight back to youtube where i began learning to blow and draw clean single notes. Imagine my dismay when i found the 2 hole draw is broken! No. It is not broken. And this is part of my reasoning for making a review. This is a common beginner issue, i was glad to read and your harmonica is most likely fine. The reed for the 2 hole is much longer than the rest. Or something. But learning these things are all part of the fun! Really enjoying it so far and i'm looking forward to improving, despite the fact i think this particular harmonica is broken.

So quarantine has definitely motivated to try new things. And the harmonica was definitely top of the list. After countless sessions of watching YouTube videos. I finally decided to hop on to Amazon and purchase this beautiful harmonica. For the price, this was very much affordable. And after receiving it the next day in the post and unboxing it. It was lovely too see that it came in a nice cute handy case. And inside the case was this shiny beautiful Metallica. As I blew it, the sounds was just angelic and harmonious. I also bought a training book with this also to get me started. And honestly, it’s just amazing what sounds and songs you can okay with this small handy instrument. I also decided to name it, as this is what my book suggested I do. And I named it “Anxiety”. Because I feel every time I play it, it relieves me and fills up my heart and calms my nerves.

I am just learning so know nothing but ..... I started with a cheap (£8) Stagg - just to see how I got one then moved to 'Marine Band' as that seemed to be a general consensus 'decent' starting point. Actually found the Stagg easier to play but the Marine Band sounded nicer. After a while one of the reeds (6) seemed to be problematic on draw so I thought I'd strip and clean. Spent ages trying to unscrew the microscrews holding the covers in place - eventually I gave up and decided to lever the covers off only to find that these are not screws at all but pins with dummy screw heads - this means that the harp is not really cleanable more than a couple of times. The adjustment work and it's back working again but I feel that it's disingenuous to make it look as if it is able to be cleaned when it isn't. Maybe the old Marine Bands were well made?

Es ist eine großartige Mundharmonika für Anfänger als auch fortgeschrittene Spieler. Der Kaufgrund war ihre Beliebtheit in Musikerkreisen und das Versprechen einer hervorragenden Klangqualität. Sie überzeugt durch eine stabile Verarbeitung und einen warmen, vollen Klang. Besonders positiv ist der einfache Spielkomfort. Die Töne lassen sich leicht anblasen, und die Mundharmonika liegt gut in der Hand. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt wäre die etwas simplere Optik, die nicht jedem gefallen könnte. Ich vergebe 5 von 5 Sternen. Sie ist einfach zu spielen und bietet eine tolle Klangqualität zu einem fairen Preis.

Tenia antes una BluesBand(gama baja) y con esa recién comencé a aprender, pero hoy me llego esta maravillosa armónica y lo digo realmente porque el sonido se escucha limpio y claro, los bend salen mucho mejores y no se necesita forzar tanto para lograr las notas aspiradas 8,9,10. A mi criterio es excelente, espero poder darle el uso correspondiente y lograr sacarle la melodía para la que ha sido construida. Muy contento con esta maravillosa armónica. La recomiendo!!!

Great Harmonica. Pretty, great sound. but... Came in a box not sealed... very weird anyone could have touched it. Have sharp edges, that I have never seen even on cheap Chinese ones. This is a recurrent complaint. O am not sure why the company doesn't fix it.

it arived on day it said it would and arived in A1 shape no marks or dings and all notes play A1 . i fine the m.b 1896 an awsome harp verry conferble too play and feels relly good in mounth and verry easy too play and has awsome sound herd lot of ppl say they have problem with it catching ther mustash well for me this is not so i have verry long berd and mustash and have nt pull it at all and no swelling of wood eaither i played on it for hours and got wood relly soaked and did nt swell at all i have gotten two of thease now and no problems with any of them i have sp20 too but i like thease one better then the sp20 this m.b 1896 be good for beginner or any stage of player right up too pro this is top of the line harp i think but that just my apinion if ur debating about what too get grab this one give it try see how u like it cause no one can speak for anyone else u have too try difert things for urself too see what u like or dont like but far as this harp it self its made and performs top notch and plays easy and smoothly
