Boë Violet Gin - Flavoured Gin - 70cl - 41.5% ABV

Priced at £29.99 at the time of review, this 70cl bottle of Boë Bramble Gin has a striking deep purple colour and a strong berry-forward flavour profile. At 41.5% ABV it still has the crispness you expect from gin, balanced with blackberry sweetness and a subtle tartness. I served it over ice with lemon and lime slices and a simple lemon tonic, which worked really well together. This Boë Bramble Gin is a vibrant, berry-forward flavoured gin with a deep purple hue that immediately stands out in the glass. It also has a slightly syrupy appearance when poured compared to more traditional gins, which hints at its richer fruit profile. The flavour balances tart citrus notes with softer blackberry sweetness over a crisp gin base, giving it a fruity but still recognisably gin-style taste. It is definitely a more flavoured style of gin, so it may not suit everyone, particularly those who prefer a very dry or botanical-heavy gin. Personally, I really enjoyed the berry profile and found it very palatable without being overly sweet. I served it over plenty of ice with slices of lemon and lime, topped with a simple lemon tonic. The citrus garnish lifted the sharper notes nicely and complemented the blackberry flavour well. The colour also makes it look particularly appealing when poured, especially in a large glass with ice and garnish. At 41.5% ABV it still retains a proper gin character beneath the fruit flavouring, rather than tasting like a liqueur or pre-mixed spirit drink. I also tried the apple and lime flavour from the same range, and after comparing the two, I found I preferred it. This version has a crisp, zesty profile, but I did notice a slightly synthetic edge to the taste, whereas the bramble felt more rounded and enjoyable overall.

This is the best gin I've ever tried. Ive been drinking gin over 9 years since first trying Boe Voilet gin. Never found a gin as great, and Ive tried most gins on the market. I usually bring back 4 litres from the Canaries at €18 a bottle, but I go through it so quickly. This gin needs to be more readily available in the UK. I mix mine with lemonade. Its divine!

BOE GIN one of best gins you will ever buy. Great taste and when done with orange as recommended suits it to a tee would be my go to gin if available.

I got this gin when the price was reduced and was not disappointed. It has a slightly citrussy flavour, but it is very subtle and is still very much a London dry gin.

The Scots make the best gin. Who knew?! Good for them. The raspberry and the lime are lovely. But the bramble is absolute bliss. I have never been a fan of Scottish Independence but if they can engineer such high quality gin then they may do as they please and I shall apply for my visa with content.

Having discovered this amazing Boë gin in a local pub I then tried to find it in the shops . . . . . no luck! Thank goodness I found it here on Amazon . . . . . oh joy! It is not as sweet as parma violet gins available, and is devine. It really is like drinking the flower, so breathe in as you sip this nectar in a glass to really enhance the flavour and take your taste buds to a new level.

Esta bien pero n lo volvería a comprar. Nos regalaron el de violeta de la misma marca y como estaba tan rico probamos con este. Pero no me gustó tanto.
