crystal clear, full screen display for canon 7D and Vixia HF G10
Although there were some minor problems with this monitor, (read on) I was able to get a crystal clear, superb image that filled the screen on BOTH my canon 7D and my Canon Vixia HF G10 camcorder. I ordered a Vello CB-500 Dual Shoe Bracket and Pearstone 8.3" (21.1cm# Articulating Israeli Arm I am using this monitor on a separate bracket with articulating arm for my camcorder as well as the Canon 7D. The Canon Vixia HF G10 Canon VIXIA HF G10 Full HD Camcorder with HD CMOS Pro and 32GB Internal Flash Memory has focus assist, great manual settings, and features that translate very well into critical focus when used with this Lilliput monitor. It also works well for still photography and video with my 7D and great in playback. This monitor is all it says it is and great for the price point. No more squinting, squatting, and going blind looking in my little range-finder. I use my camcorder for macro video filming, wildlife at preserves and parks. I use my 7D for the same with my Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/2 ZE Lens. Both set ups are lightweight and great for travel. The problems I had were:1) The HDMI cable broke inside my 7D and I needed a tweezer to get it out, but it came out in one piece. I bought a better cable from amazon and tested the monitor to really spectacular results.2) Language changed to Chinese and now I can't get it back to English! My suggestion is get a QUALITY cable. I am a advanced photo enthusiast who travels quite a bit, and do not get paid for my work, so this set up is ideal. If you are a profession videographer, I imagine you will prefer the Marshall Electronics monitor.3) There is no real technical support to address my issues, but I paid $700 and $900 each for two monitors in the past from (Ikan, Marshalls). These companies had great technical support and the monitors were not even as good in extreme sunlight conditions as this monitor.I don't feel these minor problems justify lowering a rating to 4 stars when the monitor itself is such a quality item

It DOES work in full screen guys.
I see a lot of complaints about it cutting off 5% of the image etc...There is an option in the menu called underscan that fixes the cut off issue with the GH2. I turned that on and the monitor displays everything 100% as it is in the view finder, no cut off.So far it has been great with my GH2. I assume that setting works with other cameras but cannot confirm that. Some complain about not being able to adjust the color range when the histogram is on to get it to display in hi def. I see no reason to really need that. I use a white balance grey card and manually WB every shot so do not rely on this monitor for my colors. It is a monitor and allows me to monitor what I am shooting. It allows me to pull focus It has a GREAT built in zoom function to assists in focus. It is not perfect by any means but it is awesome for the price.Look! If you are a professional or can afford it get a better one. For my uses it has worked great so far.

Many features packed into this unit. Fair price for what you get. Shopped around and kept coming back to this.
I like this but it's kind of buggy. My first field monitor so I haven't a lot to compare this to.Issues; the mini ball head is junk. Replace it immediately , I now use it for a gopro as it was probably designed for something like that. It doesn't seem to handle the weight of the monitor very well on the shoe mount. ( The shoe mount part of the mini ball head I like and kept. )Every now and then it gets glitchy and won't let me use the 4 function buttons or the 5D MK ii button. It has acted up a couple of times like this and I will update if it gets worse or better or if I return it.Did I mention I have a 5D MK II ? Drag that I monitor recording at 480P but still looks a lot better than my little 3" screen.Hey no more nose prints if I want to shoot stills! This works great on a jib as well as the 5D has no flip out screen.Really though, other than that, it looks great, it accepts those FP550 video camera batteries that I already had 2 of .Each battery gives me almost 1.5 hours. You can use an AC adapter to power it.The hood works well outside in the sun. The hood is sturdy plastic and protects the screen.Peaking function is helpful as the 5D MK II doesn't auto focus while recording video very well. I pull my own focus with prime lenses anyways for video. I can do pretty well without it but it's new and fun to play with.I may bump this up a star after I have used it for a few months. So far tested it with Nikon D90, Canon 5D MK II and Canon 6D.

Have a few problems that need to be fixed
First off let me say when it's in HD mode, it's great. That's when it is.I shoot with a GH2 so all of this info comes from that view point.1. No matter what mode I put it in, full screen, 16/9, whatever, it cut off about 5% of the screen on the edges. Confirmed on my Marshall.2. To get it to work in HD mode, you need to enable either histogram of exposure settings. Problem with this is that you can no longer control color temp in this mode. It's all locked up. So, if you want to adjust color temp to match what you are actually shooting (a little helpful) you need to switch back to SD mode which shifts the color temp. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention when you enable HD mode, you get one hell of a color temp shift in this bad boy! So you have to go back and forth, guessing what you're doing till you kinda get it right. Not very fun.I contacted Lilliput directly and they asked me for an invoice number. I told them I bought it off of amazon and the never responded back. Sent a few emails and nothing. Great customer service guys. Seems a few people on the message boards are experiencing these kinds of problems with these new monitors. Think we need to all what a little bit till they figure out what the hell they are doing. It's a shame too, it's amazing when it's in HD but pretty much useless to me the way it is.One more thing, the peaking seems to be pretty broad compared to my Marshall and I wouldn't trust it at all. I had them up side by side and I'm still going back to the 3 year old marshall 7" hdmi.
