A Game-Changer for My Workshop – Mobility Meets Stability!
I recently purchased the Workbench Stepdown Caster set (700 lbs capacity) for my heavy woodworking bench, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for my workspace. These casters have completely transformed how I use my shop, blending rugged durability with effortless mobility. If you’re on the fence about upgrading your workbench, let me tell you why these deserve a solid five stars!Pros:1 Heavy Duty Construction: The all-steel build feels incredibly solid, and the 700 lbs total capacity (175 lbs per caster) easily handles my loaded workbench—complete with tools, a vise, and lumber—without a hint of strain. These are built to last!2 Smooth Urethane Wheels: The 2.5” urethane wheels roll like a dream on my concrete floor. They’re quiet, non-marring, and glide over small imperfections with no jerking or sticking. Moving my bench around feels almost effortless.3 Stepdown Mechanism: The retractable design is genius! With a quick step on the pedal, my workbench lifts off the ground for mobility, and when I release it, it sits firmly back down—rock-solid stability for when I’m working. No wobbly wheels here!4 Easy Installation: The kit comes with screws, a screwdriver, and clear instructions. I had all four casters mounted in under an hour. Pro tip: pre-drill your holes slightly smaller than the screws for a snug fit—it’s a breeze with a drill.5 Fantastic Value: For the price, you’re getting premium quality and functionality. I’ve seen flimsier casters cost twice as much, but these deliver top-tier performance without breaking the bank.Cons:1 Screw Quality Could Be Better: The included screws work fine, but they’re a bit soft. I swapped them out for some sturdier 2.5” deck screws I had on hand to ensure they’d hold up long-term. Not a dealbreaker, just a minor tweak.2 Pedal Placement: The stepdown pedal sticks out a bit, so if your workbench legs are near a walkway, you might occasionally bump it. I mounted mine on the inner sides of the legs to avoid this—it’s worth considering during setup.Final Thoughts:These Workbench Stepdown Casters have unlocked a new level of flexibility in my shop. I can roll my bench out for big projects, tuck it away for cleaning, or reposition it to show off my work—all without sacrificing the stability I need for precision tasks. The heavy-duty steel and smooth urethane wheels make them feel like a professional-grade upgrade, and the retractable feature is the cherry on top. Despite the minor hiccups with the screws and pedal placement, these casters are an absolute steal for the quality and convenience they offer. I’d buy them again in a heartbeat—five stars all the way!

Great product so far!
I was NERVOUS installing these today, after having read several questionable reviews. Overall, I'm very happy with these. I built an all in one workbench for my tablesaw, miter, and router. My tablesaw is an old cast iron table saw, and it's so heavy I struggle to get it off the ground. I can lift it a few inches but that's it. Noting that fact, when I go to press down the wheels to make the table mobile, I do lift the corners of my table as I press down the wheel just to take the pressure off the lifting mechanism. When I get to the corner with the tablesaw, it's a bit of a beast to get up, but once there, the wheels swivel like a pro. I do wish the quality of the screws that hold the castors to the table were of better quality. The phillips heads stripped pretty quickly from the bit slipping, which left me concerned about the strength of the metal holding the castors on. Granted there are 6 screws per castor.A couple of helpful tips for installing:I attached a wheel to the lift mechanism just like it would be when attached to the table. I set a section of 2x4 under each corner of my table to lift the table off the ground an inch and a half. Then I used the assembled castor and held it against the table legs as though they were sitting fully seated on the ground. I marked the location of the screw holes, and attached a lift without a wheel on it. I don't think you can get a drill in fully with the castors fully assembled, so I added the wheels after the lift was attached.I do wish I had attached them to the insides of my table legs (and will very likely move them). The lift part of the castor sticks out fairly far, making it quite difficult to navigate without catching the lifter on all of the mess in my garage.Totally worth buying, and would buy again.

Easy install
I purchased the set with a 700 lb capability for a 6-ft long table. Saw cabinet unit. Works great. However, don't have a lot of wood chips or anything on your floor as the wheels are a little smaller than I would like and they have a very hard time going over. For example, an electric cord. When you set the machine down it slams really hard. Fortunately it's only from about a quarter inch. But if you're looking for a soft landing, this is not the product. One other thing, the installation seems to include very cheap screws. The heads stripped out on several even with a new bit. Other than the screws, great product and certainly a very good price.

Easy to install, great value, does exactly what they're supposed to
I read the reviews, so I skipped the 1/4" pre-drill step (it would be fairly catastrophic to do that - it's likely a typo that should say 1/8" pre-drill, but you might not need to pre-drill at all, depending on the wood). Installed these in about five minutes and now I have a stable AND movable bench for my miter saw. I put them on the inside of the legs so I can still put the bench against a wall or other benches, and they're easy enough to engage and disengage that I can still do it even though they're under the bench. Would use these again.
