Fender Squier Debut Series Telecaster – Classic Tele Tone at an Incredible Price
I picked up the Fender Squier Debut Series Telecaster as part of a simple, affordable setup, and it has easily exceeded my expectations. This guitar delivers exactly what you want from a Telecaster: clear, bright tones with plenty of bite, plus a surprisingly warm and usable neck pickup. Whether I’m playing rhythm, simple lead lines, or demonstrating techniques for students, the Tele cuts through cleanly and responds well to dynamics. The neck feels comfortable and playable right out of the box—great for beginners, but not limiting for more experienced players. Tuning stability has been solid, and with a quick string change and basic setup, it plays far better than its price would suggest. What impressed me most is how practical this guitar is. It works well clean, takes pedals nicely, and handles overdrive without getting harsh. I use it regularly for lessons and practice, and it’s become my go-to rhythm guitar. For anyone looking for an affordable, straightforward Telecaster that still captures the classic Fender feel, the Squier Debut Series Telecaster is an excellent choice. It’s proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a guitar that’s fun, reliable, and inspiring to play. Highly recommended.

Out of the box good 🎸🎸🎸
Was on the fence about this squier Tele or a firefly, firefly was more $$$$ and a great guitar, a real guitar player will understand this, I really didn't need another guitar, but I didn't have a telecaster in my Collection, 50 years of playing I've played and Collected just about every brand cheap and expensive and this isn't my first Fender Squier, anyway after extensive research bought this in Sea foam green, it arrived over night, let it sit a day before doing any set up adjustments, to my surprise it didn't need anything but low E saddle set up a bit, frets good, fretboard dark and pretty wood (oiled anyway) nut cut good (plastic of course) body and paint perfect no dents dings etc.... Neck had some rough spots, about 5mins with a Scotch Brite pad, Smooth as silk, tuners staying in tune after a beating, (upgrade later) sounds great, bridge PU 👍, neck PU seems a little low Volume and muddy, but ok, for the money you can't go wrong ( Your experience may differ) I got lucky received a really good one and it's Matte finish is pretty, looks great in the collection, honestly was getting it to mod if I had to, but at this point I don't see that happening, but a great Platform to do so, for the money, WOW !!!!! a beginner/expert will be satisfied with the sound and Play ability, just don't be a Guitar snob, those days are over, we've all seen these days especially cheap guitars sound and look great as some we've paid lots of $$$$$ for, let's face it, it's all about sound and play ability that's what will keep a player Interested, not brand names. I would recommend this for any level of player, my main purpose was getting something to take outside and take to friends to jam and not worry about a expensive guitar getting wrecked after a few drinks and letting friends play after a few, we players all know that feeling of babysitting our expensive equipment and friends on a jam night and drinks. Hope you get a good one like I did, very satisfied with my purchase.

Great Deal
I received the Tele this morning. It was packaged well. I pulled it out, tuned it and started playing. I was very impressed. I own a 2011 fender Tele made in Mexico and so far I do not notice any difference in the sound. I played a few songs and the recorded a song on my Zoom 16 and the guitar recorded as well as my 2011 Tele. I played rythm a base line and lead on the new Tele. It worked great. I am not a performer just a hobbyist that records in the garage. I paid $149.00 for this on Amazon and this guitar is a steal for that price. I gave it 4 stars because frets are a little sharp on the ends. Other than that it is comfortable to play. The only other negative is they only come in satin. I like shinny.

Very good after some adjustments.
For the price it's a very good guitar, although I would say it's worth taking it to a guitar tech to adjust, on mine some frets were still quite square, but after adjustments it's super good. The pickups are good, I don't find them awesome, but they do the job, the finish is super clean and I loved the color. I plan on improving it overtime, but as it is, I think it would be an amazing guitar to learn, and it gives a lot of play for upgrades.

Great bones for project build.
I bought this instead of a build kit. Perfect for that! For someone learning it may need at a setup, better strings, probably a new nut and tuners or will probably drive you crazy. At least on this one. The bridge is nice. I changed the p/ups and tuners and bone nut. By the way the Fleur pups are really good. Musiclilly tuners (nonlocking) are also good. I took this from the cheapest guitar to a favorite. I love this Squire. Hope this helps someone. Great for the price.

Very good beginner guitar. Comparable to the Sonic
This is a review for the Squire debut black matte telecaster. I tracked it straight from Washington to Colorado. Packaging was in great shape. The guitar I received, is a perfect starter instrument for a beginner. It was cut correctly at the nut, intonation is good and the action only slightly higher than my preference. The strings are good and I won't need to change them out right away. Any beginner that receives an instrument like this one will be able to scan the code and learn to play. Now, for the nitty gritty. The pickups were slightly high towards the 6th string, so I adjusted those. The jack fit is slightly loose, but works for now. The switch and the pots are good. No grinding and the switch gives a solid click when it is moved between positions. The nut is plastic and cheap, but cut correctly. The bridge is top load. The angles are correct so that the saddles are about as high as they can go. (No floating saddles from lowering the action). This guitar has a plain neck, no skunk stripe and it is plain wood inside the truss rod hole. Very basic guitar. But it has what I wanted, the neck feels identical to my other Squire telecaster. I have the Squire Sonic in surf green. These are great modding guitars. I'm still finishing my Sonic mods, so now I have a guitar to play while I fix the paint on the other one. (I filed an armrest into it among other things.) I am an intermediate player, amateur wood worker and enjoy tinkering. I think Fender/Squire really did a good job of competing with the cheap Amazon guitars!

Back to basics, the electric guitar that started mass production
For an affordable, entry level electric guitar. Going back to basics, this is the model that started it all. After all 2026 is the 75th anniversary of the Telecaster. I heavily modified the one I bought. Unfortunately it cane damaged. Looks like the Amazon courier or packers dropped it. The gutar was bruised by the output jack and had some minor finish chipping on the corner. Wasn't a big deal to me. Got reimbursed a portion of the cost. I swapped the pickups (I will use the Squier pickups in another guitar eventually, in my experience, always acceptable quality) with twin humbucker pickups and coil split them to make a Delux. I had to rout the body at the bridge to fit the humbucker. I replaced the bridge and drilled through the body to make it a stringthrough. The guitar resonates so much better. Two push-pull B500K CTS volume pots (split) and A500K CTS tone pot with an orange drop .022uf. I put a set of Fender ultra staggered locking tuners on it with a Guyker roller string tree. I had to level the frets and dive the frets from 12 down. There was rough fret ends and a few unstable frets that needed some super glue. I rounded and polished the frets back to a shine. Rolled the fretboard edges. Lowered the action and tossed a set of super stinky 10s on it. Adjusting the intonation and it plays as good as an American fender that's been setup the same. I only paid a fraction of the cost even after the upgrades. Anyway, glad to have this upgraded beast for under $500.

Squier whats not to like.
I have owned a Squier Strat for about 38yrs, learned on it, gigged on it, recorded with it, and its still going strong, so when I decided time to get a telecaster, tried some Fender and Squier in store but nothing impressed, neck to thick, sound too weak, just felt wrong, then I saw these ! at this price whats to lose ? worst case , return it and carry on looking. Well it arrived, unboxed, examined and tested, here are the pro's and cons. PRO'S:- 1. Very cheap, in other guitars a con. 2. Light weight, thin body so no shoulder ache. 3. SATIN finish to body and neck so no sticky poly when warm. 4. Machine heads tune nicely. 5. Holds tuning once strings changed (as any guitarist does on a new guitar) and stretched. 6. mine arrived intonated and set up sweet. pickups are fine for purpose , ceramics, may change later but no rush. 7. Playability is good enough that I wouldnt think twice over gigging and ideal for learner. 8 . quality and build are above its price point. 9. tuners and saddles are unbranded but work. CONS :- 1. replacement scratch boards not available ( I wanted a black plate on my black guitar) . 2. saddles and tuners unbranded, may swap for fender ones down the line. Yes I know if branded tuners are important Ineed to buy a Fender tele , but with fenders starting at £700 + and the chancellor taxing more and more, I think spending £120 for this, plus £120 for fender tuners and Saddles resulting in a great guitar equal to a basic £700 fender tele for a third the price is a no brainer, but even un tweeked this is a beauty.
