This is a cool microscope.
This is much better than the hand-held microscope I was toying with before. At a thousand magnification, I found myself wanting more. This microscope delivers, by far. The first lens brings out the details of things like coins and stamps, the second takes you to 2000 magnification to show you things you may never thought you'd see and at 5000, you find life that you wouldn't see anywhere else. Very cool. The kids have been engrossed and grossed-out by it. They love it too. It's easy to adjust with a couple of knobs and the lighting is bright and versatile. All without busting the budget.

AMAZING!
You cannot go wrong with this scope. I am casually interested in home/science use and I still cannot believe this much tech can be had for this price. The different lenses are overwhelming at first but very intuitive to use once you start using the scope. It's great to have these options. The metal base is sturdy as is the stage (tray) with adjustments and I am happy I got this model. Five professionally prepared slides are included which allowed me to unbox and immediately start getting used to lenses and controls. The file outputs to storage are MP4 (no strange encodes, my Win11 machine reads them fine) and JPG. The included 32GB card is plenty for scope > device transfer. The remote seemed like a luxury when I bought this but now realize it is a must have. The remote keeps the scope still for taking pics and vids where attempting to use the screen buttons does shake the image a bit. Some people have noted you have to switch the power supply for top vs bottom (condenser) illumination. I don't think this is an issue since those changes would typically involve a lens swap which means you are reconfiguring the scope anyway. Some other very minor considerations which, for the price, I'm not complaining just noting. 1. There is no fine focus. Does take a steady hand with the B and C lenses and more so with the M lens. Practice and steadying the hand helps. There is a nice smooth feel and the gears are well greased. 2. The photos have interpolation artifacts (fuzzies) which is to be expected on a digital scope. Settings don't seem to resolve so I stick to native resolutions with default sharpness. I have worked around this with short vids instead (example included). For that reason, I am happy I did not upgrade to the 10" screen. Think of the digital zoom more as framing than zooming. 3. The micro SD card slot is difficult to reach for card removal. I use a pair of metal tweezers to help.

So far so good but I did receive a returned item.
Seems to be a nice unit. The box showed signed of it being returned item so I was a bit disappointed as I purchased a new unit. Everything seems to be there but you can tell someone had the unit out and put back into the box. It does a good job magnifying but if there is any movement on the surface the unit is on the vision on the screen shakes, a lot! The unit is made with a mix of metal and plastic so there are some areas I wonder how durable they are but for what I purchased it for it will do. Iโll know more as I use it.

Nice microscope, but the USB feature doesn't work on the unit I received
There's a lot about this microscope that I really like! I can use one lens for soldering, another lens for coins, and the other three lenses will be great for looking at tardigrades and similar microscopic organisms. Yesterday, I got video of a rotifer and I could even see the cilia moving around its mouth as it fed! Pretty impressive! There are lights below and above, which is great. The downside is that there's only one cord. So you have to unplug the power from one place and plug it in somewhere else. That could be an issue over time. The mechanical stage is nice, though one of the knobs is a little loose and has a fair amount of "play". There are a couple of screws that might allow me to fix this, but I haven't tried it yet. I initially had trouble getting the L lens in focus, but I somehow missed the focus ring on the device at first. I had been focusing with the mechanical stage by moving it closer/further from the lens. (Doh!) All the lenses work really well now. Negatives: - The head with 3 lenses (like a traditional compound microscope) is VERY stiff. Turning to a new lens causes parts of the scope to shift/move. This makes it impossible to see something interesting with one lens and then switch to another lens with higher magnification to get a better view, as the image will have shifted a lot. Perhaps the head will loosen up over time. - My biggest problem is that the supplied USB cord to connect to my PC did not work at all. I switched to a new cord and got everything working, but when I tried the same setup again the next day my computer (and my wife's laptop) absolutely cannot connect to it as a camera. (I can connect to it as Mass Storage and transfer videos and images from the SD card.) I keep getting a device malfunction error (43). I contacted Andonstar but it's Chinese New Year and no one will be in the office until the end of the month. :-(

The quality of the camera deserves two stars. I can tell just the realities that I saw and nothing more. 1. When I adjust the height the microscope plate is shakin and it is not useful when you try to focus on micro level creatures. 2. Scratches on the product. 3.The worst one is interferance between the plate and 0.5mm lens when you try to focus on a 3-4mm object 4. The light control buttons work only when they want. On and off not possible sometimes. 5. Low quality sd card Positives: 1. Nice camera quality 2. Possible to add one more standard lens 20.2mm.( I havent tried it as I dont have but it was written on the cap) 3. Possible to duplicate the 7inch screen with your monitor or TV with HDMI. Summary: It is good product if it is not shaking and had a good quality feeling. However, this device looks like it will be broken.
