I bought the Rasptek kit mainly because the components were good quality such as the SanDisk SD card and because it had that sturdy metal case unlike the Canakit one which uses a cheap plastic case. It took me about 30 minutes to have this Pi 5 kit setup and browsing the web which was amazing compared to my experience with the Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano which took about 4-5 days due to being so User unfriendly. You can see from the image above the Rasptek Pi 5 kit sitting on top of the Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano. Although the Nvidia is more powerful mainly due to the GPU... It is also 3-4 times the size. I also had to 3D print a case and buy an NVMe drive for the Nvidia Jetson . It seems that although the Pi 5 is less powerful then the Nvidia Jetson, general computing tasks like web browsing are much smoother on the Pi 5. Also, the Jetson had trouble playing different video formats. So unless you specifically need to do Computer Vision or Language Processing tasks that involve machine learning, just stick with the Raspberry Pi 5 Kit if you are doing things like emulation, or more simple robotics. Overall, I definitely recommend the Rasptek Pi 5 kit because the price is good, it has a sturdy metal case unlike the other kits, the components are of good quality and it just works out of the box unlike the Nvidia Jetson.

Package arrived on time and in great shape. Simple assembly of the main board, fan and enclosure. Installed the pre-loaded sd card, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Applied power and booted right up. Immediately started working with GPIO. No issues what so ever. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this little kit. I use the pi5 as a way to watch tv shows and movies while traveling, as well as an emulator for my favorite ps2 and retro arcade games. The fan and aluminum case this kit comes with have done a fantastic job keeping it cool, even when I'm asking a lot of it. So far the warmest I've noticed it is "slightly warmer than my hand when I touch it", so maybe 36°-37° C? The fan is super quiet, I honestly barely even notice it if there is no other noise in the room. I was able to snap the pi into the case and have it up and running in less than 5 minutes with everything I needed being easy plug and play. I would be recommending this to anyone getting into the wonderful world of raspberry pi.

I got this for my high schooler who’s taking AP Computer Science, and it’s been perfect for experimenting with Raspberry Pi and Linux. The aluminum case keeps it from overheating, and the compact design makes it easy to fit anywhere. Comes with a quality power supply, SD card, and HDMI cables. Solid kit and highly recommend.

This raspberry pi kit is an amazing thing to get for starters with the already adapted hdmi cables the metal case and fan it gives you everything you need for a good raspberry pi setup. I personally used it to make a portable tech deck set up with a small screen.

Can't ask for a better starter kit for getting into Raspberry Pie product world. It came with all the necessary item for a fully functionnal raspberry pie. The metal case in aluminum is of high quality as described. The case is hard aluminum, not the flimsy cheap stuff and the screw holes aligns perfectly. No need to worry; the PCB will fit perfectly in the case and the cutout for the connectors. The fan works good and it's not noisy. I'm able to use the product all day long and not worry of any overheating problem. I like the fact that it's basically plug and play. The OS is on the card, you just need to assemble, plug and start. Strongly recommend. Have fun!

Arrived on-time and in perfect condition. The box is compact and well organised. Everything is safely packaged. Very easy to put together, just be careful about your alignment of the active cooler as you don't get a second chance to have it line up with the holes for the pins. I had no problem looking directly down from above and slowly pressing it into place. No issues fitting the board into the case and the screw holes lined up perfectly, as did the ports with their respective holes in the side. Insert the micro SD card AFTER you install the board in the case to avoid damaging it. Installing it will be easy. The metal case in this kit is, in my opinion, sturdier and easier to deal with than the plastic case that came with my pi 3B+ (and I have no issues with that case either). All-in-all, a good purchase for me and I am quite happy with it! I am currently using it to brush up on my Linux command line knowledge and also learning Python 3 using Thonny (at the moment). Ultimately, I will integrate this into my home automation system currently being developed. I will also use the pi5 for a number of electronic experiments that I have planned. I will likely buy this again, and certainly recommend it. Thanks, and good job iRasptek! 14EC2024 edit: I have been enjoying this kit quite a bit. As part of my home automation project (and weather project, air quality project, AI bird recognition project, etc. ...) I have been acquiring a lot of tech, including another Pi5 from a different vendor as I needed the SBC and nothing else. That Pi5 had an SDRAM failure and I returned it today. I think I will just buy another from iRasptek as that one has been chugging away without a hitch. I tend to stick with what, and who, works for me. Cheers!
