Used correctly it cuts right through cardboard quickly, and the tool's charge seems to last. I previously used razor box cutter. Not having the grip I used to, it slipped out of my hand one too many times, and often enough the blade wasn't fully retracted leaving it exposed when stored. I never liked using it. This tool solved that problem and is working well after clearing out an attic's worth of cardboard boxes, of all thickness, that never want to tackle with the box cutter. One blade change was simple to do with safety key in place.

Cuts through cardboard like butter. I had no problem cutting up 15-20 various sized boxes in 45 min, some were large from chairs and tables we bought. It might get stuck in a section where the board isn’t smooth, but it’s not a big deal at all to move on and find a different spot. Wish I bought this sooner, don’t waste your time with the cheaper versions, this is worth every penny.

This device is an animal cutting cardboard. Definitely a five. What I experienced is an issue when the cutting blade encountered the classic packing tape. More often than not, the tape tended to stretch and “grab” onto the blade thus preventing the blade from zipping through it. Not a huge problem but annoying.

I was skeptical about getting a single purpose tool like this, but I’m so glad I did. It is a joy to use, and if it spares me even one small injury from a box cutter, it will have paid for itself many times over. Very high quality.

Very disappointed. I wound up returning this for a refund. The cutter did not have the power to cut through regular boxes and would stall easily.

This is a decent product, that does what it claims. It’s obviously cheaply made in China. My biggest problem is the “safety plug”. You have to insert it into the charger port and it prevents the blade from activating when you have to open it up. There is no world where this doesn’t get lost immediately and it’s kind of important if you don’t want to cut off your fingers. Would it have killed you to put a lanyard on it? Or even better, how about a safety switch instead like a Dewalt grinder. The safety plug is an extremely poor product decision.

I probably looked at a dozen plus YTube videos, and read a ton of purchaser / customer reviews trying to figure out what would be the best cardboard cutter for my non-professional needs. I am a frequent Amazon customer and thus accumulate more boxes than I want to admit. Around the Holidays, my garage looks like a cardboard recycling depot. I whittled the list of contenders between a cutter made by a brand (no names..) that begins with the letter ‘R’, and the BoxBlayde. I found the BoxBlayde with the backwards cutting action to be more intuitive than others that required a forward pushing motion. Cuts smoothly and a long lasting battery charge is a definitive plus.
