An excellent mechanical keyboard with no key chatter
I purchased the DasKeyboard Root after struggling for over a year with a Logitech G613 wireless mechanical keyboard. I'm not a gamer, but I do spend a lot of time writing and have always loved the experience of typing on mechanical switches. For some reason, the G613 experience MASSIVE amounts of key chatter (i.e., pressing a key once yet having it register 2 or 3 times). After a year of deteriorating key chatter, I knew I needed a change. I did a lot of research and decided to purchase a DasKeyboard with blue clicky switches. I'm extremely happy! The keyboard is functioning perfectly and the keys register a crisp, satisfying "click" with every press. I haven't had a single instance of key chatter and the keyboard works perfectly out of the box with Windows 10.Unlike most mechanical keyboards, this isn't aimed toward the gamer market. It's well-designed, attractive in a conservative/business aesthetic, and does its job flawlessly. That's enough to earn 5 stars in my book!

Great keyboard if you really care about keyboard quality and are wiling to pay for it.
I've had a few of these (for both home and office) for several years, and love them. Some thoughts:- Typing on it: that's the most important thing, right? If you like the old IBM Model M-style keyboards (mechanical switches, clicky keys, solid indestructible feel), then you'll be happy. I've only had the versions with the Cherry MX Blue switches, and you get that clicking sound but of course they're noisy.- USB cable: good six-foot length.- USB hub: I don't really make much use of this, but it works.- Media controls: The volume knob is nice, but I really don't use the other controls.- The magnetic ruler/footbar: It is a weird design decision, but I guess it works. I don't really have any problems with it becoming detached or anything like that. The keyboard stays in place; it's fairly heavy and doesn't really slide around.- Quality: I haven't had any problems with them, which is a good thing, but that means I have no experience with their tech support.

Good Keyboard, but Media Volume is wobbly, I prefer the professional version above this
As with most DAS keyboards, the keyboard and keys itself are solid. I do however have 2 issues with this version compared to the professional version (which is actually cheaper), and those are this weird "bar" which does not give me raised angle I prefer, and the Media Volume button which is buggy. When I turn the volume up or down, it sort of "hesitates", going back and forth a bit, and sometimes entirely drops to 0 if I turn it right (up). It's as if some internal potentiometer is broken, or there is some sensor inside that goes a bit haywire, making it mostly unusable. The times I fumbled the button in a video conference are numerous.I'd suggest the professional wired keyboard instead of this board.

A real disappointment, do not buy !!!!!
This product feels great and looks great. But it does not work. Uses generic drivers in WIN10 . Every time I reboot the machine the keys w e r and 9 in keypad, will stop working. Have to unplug and re-plug the keyboard and since is connected to the back of the computer ..it has become a very big annoyance very fast..so I am returning it. Will get something more reliable. The company service sucks. They ask me to create a ticket and after more than 3 days did not got any answer. So I am returning it to amazon , will never but from them. Computer is new x299 .. DO NOT BUY..

This is the best keyboard I have ever owned. Everything Works!
This keyboard is flawless. It has a perfect touch and click feel. You really know when you pressed the key so I make fewer typing errors with this keyboard. There are no silly lights that (in my opinion) don't belong on a keyboard anyway. The volume knob and mute keys work great even under the Linux Operating system.I tried 4 keyboards before finally being satisfied with this one. The n-Key rollover works great too and there are no ghosting issues when you mash more than one key at a time. I couldn't improve on this design even if I wanted to. Thanks for finally solving my keyboard woes.

Space bar sticks down.
Their keyboard seems to be of solid quality but after about 20 minutes of use the space key started sticking. It looks like they went on the cheap for the return spring. I ordered a replacement hoping that the new keyboard would not be built on a Friday afternoon. This also could be manufacturing problem or an engineering issue. The new board came in and it seemed to work with my testing. I delivered it to the customer two weeks ago, and he said it worked perfectly. The only bad thing was it took several days to deliver the second keyboard.

Good, but not what I remember them being
Overall it’s a GOOD keyboard. My boss bought me one for the office years ago and loved it. When I left that job I needed something similar. This one is the updated version, but the key strikes aren’t the same. Both are loud clicky, but the new one has a springy metallic reverb on each key strike that drove me nuts so I’m returning it. Definitely disappointed a little bit

Tactile accuracy
I had a really nice mechanical keyboard that works for the most part just fine except for the fact it could add extra characters or when typing fast mid one here or there because the keystroke was not compete enough. The DasKeyboard does not miss and feels incredibly accurate. I can type at full speed and feel confident every character is received and as expected. I love mechanicals I wish there was a bit more resistance to the click. My last one required 40 grams. I assume DasKeyboard is somewhere around 20-30grams. Regardless I love it, best keyboard I have had to date.
