I find I often pull this out to trim something, often more than just a door. It is so much quicker and easier to use than a full size two handed planer. Great quality but as some have said, pressing the detent and switch is somewhat hard to activate and hold. Expensive, but so worth it

I saw this and thought what a great idea! All of my tools are Bosch 18V so I have plenty of batteries and chargers. I bought a DREMEL 12v rotary tool just because of this adpater (Bosch & Dremel 12v batteries are interchangeable), thinking I won't have to purchase an abundance of 12v batteries. I did have to grind away the surface area in front so the battery would fully lock into place. This is to be expected at times. No problem there. The problem is that it doesn't work. I kept thinking that perhaps it wasn't fully seated. After numerous attempts, inspecting and measuring, I became frustrated and disassembled the entire assembly, plugged it in, and positively ensured it was making contact. I have 18 volts going in, 12 volts coming out but it will not power my tool. The polarity is correct, and I tried numerous batteries. Stumped.... Disappointed.... Useless. Now I have to buy an abundance of 12v batteries and a quick charger and lug all that extra madness around. Heads up, item will NOT fit the Bosch GLL3-330CG laser.

It works and does what is supposed to do. However, it drains the battery to 0V if left plugged into the adapter which brings the overall price up since now I have one death 18v battery which needs replacement.

Most of my Bosch cordless tools are in the 18v platform, though I do have some 12v and 36v as well. My biggest reason for buying this adapter was to increase the runtime of my 12v laser. ~45 minutes of 12v is sometimes inconvenient.

Works as promised.

I have both 18v and 12v Bosch batteries an tools so I thought that being able to use the 18v batteries on the 12v tools would extend battery life and my work time. WRONG. I don't know what 18v Bosch batteries this adapter supposedly accepts but it certainly isn't the ones I own. Look at the connection points of the Bosch battery vs. this adapter in the picture.

I have both 12v and 18v Bosch tools. I will use this on my 12v drills, impact driver, recip saw and light. I have 12-15 12v Bosch batteries and about 10 18v Bosch batteries so this adapter wasn't too necessary for me but I figure why not...I plan to update this review later.

This adapter from 18v to 12v works great. However, if you leave the battery in the adapter and on the tool it drains the battery so remove the battery when not in use...otherwise.. works as it should.
