Trash cabinet revolution
Over the years, I've used other pull-out trash cabinets from Rev-a-shelf and Knape and Vogt. This new version with the Servo takes it to another level.HOW WELL DOES THE SERVO DRIVE WORK?-In short, it is great. A light-medium tap with your foot (since I don't wear shoes, tapping with my foot is easier than using a knee) easily activates the motor which pushes the cabinet out past the front container. It does not have enough force to fully expose the back container though which is fine with me because I keep my dirty trash in the front.INSTALLATION-The directions are a bit of a nightmare. There are about 5 different manuals and templates, some of which you don't even need. It's confusing and I had to look through it multiple times to try to figure it out. I strongly recommend going to youtube to watch the official rev-a-shelf installation video. There is one mistake in the video though - you do not install the glide frame all the way to the front of the cabinet but rather simply use the template holes.-You will need to route the electrical wires to access an outlet. I have my trash cabinet right next to my sink cabinet which has outlets so it was easy to drill a hole between the two.-There are no instructions how to mount the frame to your cabinet door. It is not too difficult but you will need to figure it out and measure it yourself.-Adjusting the door position at the end is easy in the horizontal direction. However, there is no easy vertical adjustment so make sure you get this measurement just right. There is a tilt adjustment which works decently.NOTES-The wood frame is finished nicely and looks very good. I think it is an improvement over the metal frame of other models.-The containers are sturdy plastic.-The green recycle lid is only usable in the front container which makes it sort of pointless since it seems the front is the logical place for the trash container.OVERALLThe Servo Drive is worth the price of admission. To say it is a kitchen trash revolution would not be an overstatement. You tap your foot to open then use your foot to push it closed. Look ma, no hands. It keeps the whole trash area cleaner and more sanitary. The rest of it is well-done with a nice, wood frame and smooth, soft-close glides. The only negatives are the confusing installation instructions and lack of vertical door adjustment.

Thought I was getting a really great “warehouse” deal
Thought I was getting a really great “warehouse” deal, but what I got was junk. This is a $400 product, and I got it for $300 because it was supposedly “used – in very good condition – in original packaging that may be damaged”. Okay, so I figured the box had been opened, maybe some light cosmetic damage, possibly even some missing parts but nothing I couldn’t replace from the hardware store. From my research on the product, I figured most likely somebody started the installation and discovered it was the wrong size and returned it. Wrong.Yes, the box had been opened, along with every single parts baggie. There were a few screws floating around inside the box, but no indication of what was missing from the baggies. Irritating, but about what I expected. However, there were no instructions or list of included parts so I couldn’t tell what was missing. The biggest red flag was the wood box was only for a single container but it’s supposed to be for the double 35qt containers, which were included. There was a green recycle lid, but it was for a 50qt container and doesn’t fit (it’s clearly labeled 50qt). The slide parts were just floating around loose in the box, disassembled, so I’m not sure if they’re right since there’s a mix-match of parts in the box. All the Rev-a-Shelf labels were removed from the box, so it’s impossible to tell if this was originally a double or single, 35 or 50qt product. So here’s the lesson: buyer beware. I’ve had good luck and bad luck ordering these special deals, but lately it’s been all bad luck and a complete waste of my time and money.

Its pretty sweet setup
Its pretty sweet setup. Quality product. Installation guidance could be better but was able to figure it out quickly; it's an integration between Blum servo system and rev-a-shelf. Must use template to get proper placement which makes it a perfect install to trigger the cabinet to come out with light tap. A door mount template would have been helpful.

Quit working after 18 months
At first we I loved this and it worked great. The installation instructions were a little hard to follow but once I installed it, it worked great every time. But then it suddenly stopped working, almost as if the power was out. A few days later it was working again. Now it's hit or miss. It will work for a few hours, then stop working for a few hours. One time the push arm got stuck out meaning we couldn't completely close our trash can. But the next day it started working fine again. It would be a great product if it was reliable.
