So far, I love the versatility and functions of this pressure cooker.
Admittedly, I am a Ninja fan, and have been using a Ninja Foodi OL700 for the last 3 years. I have loved the versatility of this pressure cooker since it has only one lid and functions include Steam and Cook, Broiling, and so much more. Alas, my beloved pressure cooker has been giving me an error message that, according to customer service, indicates the circuit board is going. Although I will continue to use it, I know it is dying and have been on a mission to find a replacement for it. Since the available Ninja Pressure Cookers have 2 lids, I don't want to have to store a separate lid. I did research a number of different pressure cookers and the options they provided, but none of them met my basic requirements. Since Instant Pot is a known and trusted brand, I found this pressure cooker. Granted, it doesn't have all of the functionality I had gotten used to, but it would accomplish most of the tasks of a pressure cooker with the options that are important to me. In my testing, it preheated for both steaming and pressure cooking in about 8 minutes which is faster than others I tested. So, what do I like about this pressure cooker? 1) The stainless steel cooking pot is easy to clean and doesn't stain or wear as the cooking pot provided for the Ninja OL700 pressure cooker. This is a definite plus over the Ninja pressure cooker. 2) The cooking pot has handles for removing the pot from the pressure cooker. This is definitely a plus as most pressure cookers, including Ninja, require heat-resistant gloves to remove the pot from the cooker. 3) The handles on the insert pot also hold the pot in place for stirring. With other cookers, you have to hold the pot with heat-resistant gloves when you stir the contents so that the pot doesn't spin. 4) I use my pressure cooker for steaming vegetables I grow at least 2 times a week. Some of the pressure cookers I found steamed under pressure. This pressure cooker does not steam under pressure. So, a vented glass cover can be used for steaming. This makes cleanup easier as the pressure lid is more difficult to clean and dry than a glass lid. I bought the vented glass lid to use for steaming in this unit. In addition, you don't have to empty or dry the condensation collector when using a lid for steaming since the steam and water stay in the pot. 5) The sauté' mode of this pressure cooker allows selection of multiple levels of heat whereas other have only low or high as options. Since I often make gravy using roast dripping, I have found that low is too low and high boils. Since gravy requires simmering, neither if these options works. I like that I can select the heat level I need with this model. 6) Settings are retained for each function. So, you don't have to reset setting when using the same function multiple time as I do for steaming large batches of veggie greens. 7) Preheats faster than other units I tested. It took about 8 minutes to preheat for both steaming and pressure cooking starting with cold water. I appreciate that I don't have to use preprogrammed settings when I don't need to, and when I do, the settings are easily changed. Overall, I am happy with this pressure cooker. It doesn't have all of the functions my Ninja Pressure Cooker has, but it works for what I need, and it is the best I have found. UPDATE 08/10/25: I have been using this pressure cooker for about 4 months, and use it almost every day and sometimes twice in a day. I have grown to love this pressure cooker even more than my beloved Ninja pressure cooker. It lacks some of the functions of the Ninja unit such as air frying, but I have multiple ovens that air fry. My primary uses for t pressure cooker is for pressure cooking and steaming. The stainless steel pot is so much nicer and easier to clean than the non-stick pots, and it doesn't stain or wear out as the non-stick pots do. For steaming, I have the cover that fits the pot, so I don't have to clean a pressure lid. The handles on the pot prevent the pot from rotating when ingredients are stirred, and facilitate removal of the pot without heat resistant gloves. Multiple levels for the sauté mode are so very useful for making gravy from the drippings of a pressure cooked roasts which are cooked to perfection vs. other methods of cooking. I could go on and on about what I love about this pressure cooker. I can only say, if you are looking for a great pressure cooker with a lot of functionality, this is the one to buy. I hope this review was helpful for you.

So glad I got this!!!
I have been thinking about getting one of these for a couple of years now, being that I am in my 60s. I am like most people my age who are trying to size down and get rid of the excess, not wanting to add yet another appliance that sits in cupboard and you have the read the directions again by the time you finally use it again or you don't use it at all. So, it took me a bit before I took the plunge, AND I AM SO GLAD that I did! I am very pleased to report that this appliance is WONDERFUL! I am especially enjoying it for making Indian curries. I have for decades, stood over the stove, for hours at a time, doing the necessary process for making the rich delicious curries handed down to me by my Indian family and now I can get the same results in just minutes. I have always loved cooking, but with the family gone and now it's just the two of us, I have lost some of the joy, I am slowing down and would rather spend less time in the kitchen but still desirous of good food, the kind that usually takes effort. The Instant Pot is cutting that time down by hours. What took 4 hours is now 40 min and that includes only 10 minutes of my standing over the pot adding and sauteing. The rest of the cooking time is done by the Instant Pot. My husband is so pleased as he loves Indian food and now, we can have it more often. This appliance is easy to operate; the size is ample for the two of us but also to feed company. It is easy to store, and best of all clean-up is a breeze!

Why Don't You Have One Already?!
I upgraded from Instapot Duo to the Pro. The fact the Instapot Pro has handles makes a world of different. On the Duo it is was a pain pulling the pot out and straining it while hot. On top of that it inner-pot of this "Pro" has a heavy bottom making a great is steel pot, so it just work like a normal pot on the stove top giving me the options in using either the electrical device or on the stove top. When in doubt get the 6 qt, is fits most things for a 1-4 person household (I'd argue even 6). Might not hold a Large whole chicken, but I manage by being able to breakdown a whole chicken (it isn't hard, just watch a video) I cook professionally. But at home the Instapot is the best appliance I've gotten. I make Bean from dried at a fraction of the time, amazing quality fresh stock that doesn't require me to to wait 8 hours on a stove top, it takes the place of crockpot, rice cooker (*), and a normal pot. Stews, Gumbo, Chili, and Braises are done greatly when you are pinch for time making what would normally for 5 hour is only an hour or two and near same quality. Which has saved me during a dinner party where my sous dropped braised short ribs 2 hours before plating. It is an investment but if you eat (or plan to eat) legumes/beans, and you use stock/broth occasionally or consistently in your diet. This will save you some money and time while giving you a better product than store-bought stock/broth and canned beans. Both the beans and stock you make freeze well, and cooked frozen bean reheat/thaw fast. And if you freeze veggie scrap (like onion skin, carrot/parsnip peel, celery tops and bottoms) as well and save bones from you chicken (rotisserie, chicken thigns, or whole chicken) you can make stock with all the stuff you were going to throw way anyway. Better than store bought while also being basically free. Lastly it is great for meal prep and you can set it to have your ingredients in it before leaving to work and being done by the time you get home from work. If you cook consistently for yourself and/or for loved ones, or want to cook more at home. An Instapot makes thing easy at a press of a button, and the Pro has very convent features (like HANDLES I cant praise enough!) that make life much more easy. When you get one you will ask also ask "Why didn't I get one sooner?". I work late nights and early morning, this gives me more time and saves me from eating out. ~*I've mentioned "rice cooker" and I want to expand on this.~ The Instapot works great as a rice cooker but compared to an actual rice cooker, it is a little slower to cook (20min vs 30-35min) and the rice (especially short-grain/sushi rice) builds starch and stick to the stainless steel pot, requiring a slight bit more finesse to clean. I personally eat rice (and grains) consistently and i like saving 10-15min of what little time I have at home, so i have both a cheap rice cooker and instapot. However if you want to minimize your appliances (i.e. have less "appliance clutter") and need to conserve space in your kitchen, then having just an Instapot will work well enough and do every thing a rice cooker can, plus much MUCH more.

The Professional Standard for Versatile, High-Performance Pressure Cooking
**Review Title: The Professional Standard for Versatile, High-Performance Pressure Cooking** **Rating: ★★★★★** **Overview** The [Instant Pot Pro 10-in-1](https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Pot-Pressure-Steamer-Sterilizer/dp/B08PQ2KWHS/ref=rvi_d_sccl_1/136-3082413-2324846?pd_rd_w=doOr2&content-id=amzn1.sym.f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_p=f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_r=QFQE50P1QPHAT27Y3B5W&pd_rd_wg=73qIP&pd_rd_r=011160c8-74f3-4d33-942a-9c8fb875b5c4&pd_rd_i=B08PQ2KWHS&psc=1) is a significant step up from the base models, offering a more refined experience for those who use a multi-cooker daily. It balances raw power with thoughtful design tweaks that solve many of the "pain points" found in earlier generations. --- **Performance & Versatility** This model truly earns its "10-in-1" title. While most people buy it for the **Pressure Cooker** and **Slow Cooker** functions, the standout features here are the **Sous Vide** and **Sauté** modes. * **Heating Speed:** The 1200W heating element noticeably reduces pre-heating times compared to the Duo series. * **Sauté Excellence:** The inner pot is stovetop-friendly, meaning you can start a sear on a gas or electric range and move it directly into the base. **Design & User Interface** The "Pro" upgrades are most visible in the physical build: * **The Inner Pot:** Featuring stay-cool silicone handles, the pot can finally be lifted out without oven mitts. The flat bottom is also a major improvement for even searing and oil distribution. * **The Display:** The large, bright LCD screen with a progress bar takes the guesswork out of cooking. You know exactly when it’s pressurized, cooking, and venting. * **Steam Release:** The upgraded steam switch and cover make the venting process much quieter and significantly reduce the "steam geyser" effect, keeping your cabinets safer. **Ease of Use & Cleaning** * **Presets:** With 28 customizable programs, you can dial in specific settings for your favorite frequent meals (like "Rice" or "Chili") and save them. * **Dishwasher Safe:** The stainless steel inner pot and the lid are both dishwasher safe, making the post-dinner cleanup effortless. **Room for Improvement** * **Learning Curve:** Because it has so many features and customizable presets, it can feel a bit technical for a first-time user. * **Footprint:** It’s a sturdy machine that requires dedicated counter or cabinet space. --- **Final Verdict** The [Instant Pot Pro](https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Pot-Pressure-Steamer-Sterilizer/dp/B08PQ2KWHS/ref=rvi_d_sccl_1/136-3082413-2324846?pd_rd_w=doOr2&content-id=amzn1.sym.f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_p=f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_r=QFQE50P1QPHAT27Y3B5W&pd_rd_wg=73qIP&pd_rd_r=011160c8-74f3-4d33-942a-9c8fb875b5c4&pd_rd_i=B08PQ2KWHS&psc=1) is perfect for the home chef who wants more control and better safety features. It’s an investment in efficiency, especially if you value the ability to sear properly and handle the pot safely. It’s not just a gadget; it’s a foundational kitchen tool. **Pro Tip:** If you're new to the ecosystem, download the [Instant Brands Connect App](https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Pot-Pressure-Steamer-Sterilizer/dp/B08PQ2KWHS/ref=rvi_d_sccl_1/136-3082413-2324846?pd_rd_w=doOr2&content-id=amzn1.sym.f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_p=f5690a4d-f2bb-45d9-9d1b-736fee412437&pf_rd_r=QFQE50P1QPHAT27Y3B5W&pd_rd_wg=73qIP&pd_rd_r=011160c8-74f3-4d33-942a-9c8fb875b5c4&pd_rd_i=B08PQ2KWHS&psc=1) which is included; it has over 800 recipes tailored specifically for this model's power settings.

Makes real family meals fast and stress free
I use the Instant Pot Pro multiple times a week and it has completely changed how I cook dinners for my family. I can make a full balanced meal in under 30 minutes from start to finish, including chicken, carrots, and potatoes, all in one pot. What I like most is how efficient it is. I prep everything, load it in, set it, and while it cooks I can clean up or do other things instead of standing over the stove. The chicken comes out tender and juicy, the potatoes cook through without turning to mush, and the carrots stay soft but not overcooked. The Pro model feels very well built and easy to use. The controls are straightforward, pressure comes up quickly, and the results are consistent every time. It is especially great for busy weeknights when you still want a real home cooked meal instead of takeout. This is ideal for families, meal prep, or anyone who wants fast cooking without sacrificing quality. If you want one appliance that can handle an entire dinner in one go, this does exactly that. I would absolutely buy it again.

Great pressure cooker for everyday family meals
I’ve been using this Instant Pot Pro for over 4 months, and it has become one of the most useful appliances in my kitchen. The 6-quart size is perfect for a family of four — enough space for stews, soups, and batch cooking, but not too bulky on the counter. Cooking results: • Pork and beef come out incredibly tender — the meat literally falls apart. • Potatoes with meat turn out soft and perfectly cooked. • Homemade beef stew cooks in about 30 minutes, which still surprises me. • I also made beef “tushonka” and it turned out excellent. • I tried making pilaf once — the rice overcooked and the bottom browned slightly, so this recipe needs some adjusting. Ease of use: • Very simple controls, intuitive interface. • I really like that the exterior has no physical buttons — it makes wiping the surface quick and easy. • The inner pot handled the dishwasher perfectly. What could be improved: • The lid is not very convenient to wash, especially around the silicone parts. • An extra sealing ring is included, but it doesn’t completely prevent the pot from absorbing strong smells from previous dishes (paprika, curry, etc.). I haven’t tested sweet or dairy recipes yet because of this — I’m sure the aroma would transfer. • The steam release is very hot and can splash, so you need to stand back when depressurizing. Overall, it’s a great appliance that saves a lot of time and consistently delivers delicious results. I rate it 4 stars, mainly because of the lid cleaning and lingering smells, but I’m still very satisfied with how well it cooks.

Perfect for lazy cooks like me or quick dinners with so MANY options!
Okay so I bought this because I wanted quick dinners because I am going to be honest I am lazy. My parents never taught me to cook so I am just adulting trying to figure it all out. This is PERFECT for lazy cooks like me or for fast dinners! I was deciding between this or the rio but I am SO glad I went with this one! It comes out of the box ready to use (other than the obvious plastic wraps and washing before use) and is SO EASY. The first day I got it I tried chicken in it. I wanted to make chicken enchiladas and usually I make this in my crockpot but I didn't have time to wait the 5+ hours it takes to get pull apart shredded juicy chicken so I used this. Let me tell you I did not read the instructions (I did after I made the chicken lol) and it is so easy to figure out I just put it on high pressure for 12 minutes and let me tell you my chicken was JUICY like it had been in the crockpot for hours! I love that it has a reminder too that lets you know when the natural venting is complete (5 or 10 minutes). Now I will say I went past the reminder/timer because I wasn't 100% positive that it had fully released in that time. I love the user interface of this as I am tech savvy but I could see how it might be confusing to those not so tech savvy until they get used to it. As soon as you got used to it though I think you would find it super easy and the ability to customize everything is SO amazing! I also love that it walks you through what part of the cooking process it is on. It has 3 sections with progress bars so you can see where it is like the preheating, cooking, and release. The handles on the pot are a MAJOR plus they have a silicone like cover on them so they do not get hot even after it gets majorly hot. My food has not gotten stuck to the pot yet and I LOVE being able to throw it in the dishwasher and let it do all the cleaning work for me! Having the option to use this on the stove top is major as I like having the least amount of cooking gadgets since I have a smaller kitchen. It is not too heavy and not too bulky in my opinion and I do not have a lot of counter space. I used to have a very old instant pot that was SO bulky but having this new one I much prefer it! I personally would recommend it! Editing to add: So I was making chili in this on the pressure cook option and my seasonings all fell to the bottom and started to burn. This pot literally sensed it was burning and turned off the cooking it was doing and let me know. I thought that was amazing because usually it would be too late but I was actually able to save my chili! I LOVE this pot it was worth EVERY penny!

BUYER BEWARE..SLOW COOK DOESN'T WORK...ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
I we'll start this by saying if I could give this product zero stars or negative stars, I would. Absolutely. I have tried to order this product FOUR times. Amazon will not let me individually review this item for each one of those purchases, although they are different experiences. The first time Amazon sent me a defective product with a broken lid and a damaged body (I knew that I was purchasing it from the Amazon sell, but I had no idea it was gonna be unusable) My second order was with a Christmas gift card for a brand new product. I purchased the 8 qt "pro" as an upgrade from my current duo nova instant pot. I have enjoyed that product, although I do get an error code fairly frequently stating that the pot is the wrong size for the base… Instant pot told me that there is no fix for this I just need to order a brand new pot which I refuse to do so I fidget with it and it will work. Anyway, the brand new 8 quart would not come up to temperature on the slow cook function. I let it sit for four hours and it was still preheating and the food inside was raw. I had to take the food out and cook it in the oven. I sent the pot back The third time I ordered a 6 quart instant pot pro which looked beautiful, but had the exact same problem. There was also a problem getting the lid to come off the pot I had to take a butter knife and push down the steam release so that the lid would release and allow me to remove it even when I was not using the pressure cook mode. The slow Cook function absolutely would not preheat I did an experiment by putting water in the pot and turning it on for eight hours in the morning with no food in it and it never came up to temperature. Seven hours later it was still blinking preheat and the water inside was like 150°F. I contacted instant pot and they wanted me to do this almost tremendous task of taking a video showing the problem taking several photographs explaining the context of the problem blah blah blah blah. I said no I am just going to send it back until I can get one that actually works. That brings me to my fourth and final order of the instant pot Pro 6 qt. I know that it will shock you, but I had the exact same problem. I could not believe it. I looked it up online (as I should have done in the first place)and found that this is a common problem with this product. It just will not come up to heat on slow cook. One YouTube video said that it takes hours for this particular model to come up to temperature and you will need to have an instant thermometer handy so that you can check your food every few hours to ensure that it's actually cooking appropriately. I don't know about you, but when I slow cook food it is my expectation that that food is going to cook, even if I am out working in my garden or running a quick errand to the store. Why would I be on standby for eight hours when I can probably cook it in the oven in one or two and have a somewhat consistent result? Well, I did contact instant pot (again) and they required me to send photographs, and an explanation, and the whole rigmarole, which I did this time only to get a reply just a couple hours later where I was told the same thing : if you were going to cook something on slow cook it can take up to four hours to preheat on a longer cook. My reply back to instant pot was that several sites on the Internet know that there is a problem with the instant pot pro in that the slow Cook function does not work correctly. The Internet knows that this is a flaw. Amazon is becoming aware that this is a flaw. And I believe that instant pot knows that this is a flaw yet they refuse to either correct the problem or honor their warranty. I am sad to say that I will never buy another instant pot product after the runaround that I was given by this company, who refused to assist me, will not honor the warranty, made excuses for a faulty product, and ultimately just basically said if you don't like it go return it (literally). So I am. GOOD NEWS-- UPS will pick it up for free.

A SOLID PURCHASE
After my previous Instantpot stopped working one day. It was time for a new one. This one I chose as it had sous vide function. I have used this function twice now. I am quite impressed with it I must say. This Instantpot has ten functions. It is bigger than my precious one at 8qt. While I don’t cook for many I do not regret choosing the bigger version. What I enjoy about this particular Instantpot is the following: -The steam release is so much more easy to use. Just slide down to open and slide up to close. -The stainless steel liner with handles is the best update to this device ever. Silicone handles make it so easy to remove a scorching hot pot. -As with my previous pot this one has the dial to adjust time, temp and such. So easy and handy. -the cord is attached rather than having to plug it in the pot each time. As of yet I haven’t use this Instantpot for anything else. I can’t imagine it be any less than my other Pot. One thing I can think of that I’m not so impressed with: -There is a small slot to slide one thickness of your cord in the back, to hold it. It is fairly useless as being able to hold more cord would have been so much more useful. Even a nice Velcro strap to fold the cord up would have been so much better. Is this InstantPot worth buying? It is in my opinion a solid buy. It has more than one use and is a well built product.
